Vadaranyam College of Education, Thiruvallur, is a co-educational institution providing teacher professionals for the future generations.  Vadaranyam College of Education provides admission through the mechanism of merit in conformity with the order of Tamil Nadu State Government, administration of UT, and Dr. Salim Abdul Rahman University. The selection of the students is made on the basis of marks in the qualifying examination and/or entrance examination. An entrance examination is compulsory for some programs like B.El.Ed., where admissions shall be on the basis of the performance of the students in the entrance and qualifying examination as well. The college has offered two major programs in Education: B.Ed and D.El.Ed. Both programs run for two years and are designed to equip students with the relevant theoretical and practical skills to make positive contributions to the field of Education.

Application Process

1. Notification: The college will announce the commencement of the admission process through various media channels and on their official website.

2. Application Form: Candidates will need to obtain and fill out the application form. This may be available online on the college website or in person at the college campus.

3. Document Submission: Along with the completed application form, candidates will need to submit necessary documents such as:

• Mark sheets of qualifying examinations (10th, 12th, and undergraduate degree for B.Ed applicants)
• Valid ID proof
• Passport size photographs
• Any other certificates as required by the college or state norms

4. Entrance Examination: For programs requiring an entrance exam (like B.El.Ed), candidates will need to appear for the test on the specified date.

5. Merit List: Based on the marks in qualifying exams and/or entrance test results, a merit list will be prepared and published.

6. Counselling and Admission: Shortlisted candidates will be called for counselling, where they will need to verify their documents and pay the required fees to secure their admission.

7. Orientation: Admitted students will attend an orientation program to familiarize themselves with the college and its facilities.

Degree wise Admission Process

B.Ed (Bachelor of Education): The B.Ed program at Vadaranyam College of Education is approved for an intake of 100 students. Admissions to this course depend on merit based on the marks obtained in the qualifying examination and/or in the entrance examination. Selection may also involve any other mode at the discretion of the state government, UT administration, and the university. A candidate must also have a minimum qualification in a relevant area at the undergraduate level to be granted admission to the B.Ed program.

D.El.Ed (Diploma in Elementary Education): The D.El.Of. program has an approval of 50 students as an approved intake. The admission into this course is on a merit basis, where their marks are considered in the qualifying examination and/or in the entrance examination. The selection process will be in accordance with the policies of the state government, UT administration, and university. Anyone who has completed higher secondary (10+2) is eligible to apply for the D.El.Ed. program.
