Established in 1935, Zakir Husain College of Engineering and Technology is a constituent college of Aligarh University. The college campus is built on 113 acres of land. Zakir Husain College of Engineering and Technology is commonly known as ZHCET. It is a government-owned college. ZHCET has 11 departments: Applied Physics, Applied Chemistry, Applied Mathematics, Architecture, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Petroleum Studies. The total faculty strength at ZHCET is 198. The college distinguished alumni include Zafar Iqbal (Olympic Gold Medalist and the legendary Hockey player), Mr Zafar Alam (Ex-Member of Parliament), Dr D. P. Agarwal (Ex-Chairman, UPSC) etc. The college offers B.E., B.Tech, M.Tech, M.Sc., M.Phil and Ph.D. programmes for admissions. The college has been approved by AICTE and accredited by NBA.

ZHCET Admissions

The college offers undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programmes for ZHCET admissions. Some of the courses offered for admission are B.Tech, B.E., M.Tech, M.Sc. etc. Candidates have to sit for AMU Entrance Test for B.Tech and B.Arch admissions. For M.Tech and M.Sc. admissions, students have to appear for departmental tests respectively. Admissions to Ph.D. are offered based on the admission test (written test + presentation cum interview).
