    B. Sc. in Forensic Science offers the study of scientific applications and knowledge that helps in the investigation of crimes. Forensic Sciences includes essential components such as Forensic Pathology, Psychiatry, Psychology, Forensic Medicine and Odontology (Dentistry). It is chiefly laboratory-based science consisting of related elements of Chemistry, Biology, Toxicology, Ballistics, the Science of Fingerprinting, Questioned Documents and Impressions. This program consists of both classroom lectures and practical training sessions. The discipline involves crime- scene investigation including fire explosion scenes and drug laboratories. The subject applies scientific knowledge to aid in the administration of justice and has no boundaries as far as subjects are concerned. It makes use of all faculties of science, such as Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Medicine among others. Such professionals generally work in a lab and the deduced results and findings are then used to help solve cases and catch criminals. At their respective laboratories, they perform the following functions: -Keep a record of all the evidence collected -Analyze the evidence using scientific methods and equipment -Arrive at conclusions after analyzing -Prepare reports related to their findings Technical skill can be developed through the curriculum. However, intelligence and aptitude required in solving a crime by viewing it from various angles need to be developed by the student through practical exposure. Good academic skills with fundamental knowledge of various fields of science are necessary.


    Eligibility Criteria

    A candidate must have Pass with 50% (GEN)/ 45% (SC/ST) aggregate marks in 10+2 or equivalent (with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics /Biology). 

    Admission Details

    Admission to all the undergraduate courses is on merit in APGSU Aptitude test conducted through Online/ Offline mode.

    College Infrastructure

    The college is average with most of the problems lying with the authorities. The teaching faculty is well above average but at the end it all comes down to the student culture which is simply not prevalent.
