B.Tech Civil Engineering at APGSU Shimla Offline Course

Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) in Civil Engineering is a four-year (8 semesters) full-time undergraduate program offered by the School of Engineering & Technology at the Alakh Prakash Goyal Shimla University, Shimla.

Bachelor of Technology – Civil Engineering is a professional engineering discipline that deals with the design, construction and maintenance of the physical and natural built environment comprising works like bridges, roads, canals, dams and buildings. The course structure is designed in such a manner that students learn theoretical and practical knowledge of different fields that are covered in the study of civil engineering. Course work includes classroom lectures, practical, industry visit and summer internship. The course aims to impart construction based knowledge as well. With an amalgamation of such concepts and practices, engineers can design structures that meet requirements like cost, safety, reliability, durability, and energy efficiency. The course deals with the skills and knowledge of building dams, bridges, highways, water supply systems, modern townships, waste management and pollution prevention etc. Typically, civil engineers work in fields such as civil designing, township planning, building inspection, building material testing, construction project officer etc.
