24 MonthsM.Sc in Agrochemical and Pest Control is a full time two year duration course offred by Manav Rachna University, Faridabad.
This interdisciplinary program blends scientific study with practical applications in agriculture. The course curriculum includes analysis and formulations of agrochemicals, applied entomology, plant pathology, biocontrol of pests, extension work, use and marketing of agrochemicals, plant protection equipment, sales and services. Moreover, students have to complete one month of industrial training, especially in pesticide and fertilizer industries, extension and marketing agencies, and analytical laboratories, various crop research stations, etc. This exposure helps them understand real-world industry needs and apply their knowledge effectively.
Today there is a great demand for this applied course, as students have realized that they have better chances of getting jobs in this world of competition as compared to conventional courses, which trained human resources for the teaching field only.

Spanning over two years, this course focuses on the scientific and practical aspects of crop protection. It covers pesticide chemistry, formulation technology, toxicology, integrated pest management, and biological control methods. Students learn to analyze, develop, and apply agrochemicals effectively while understanding their environmental and regulatory implications. The program also emphasizes laboratory skills, field application techniques, and industry exposure to prepare graduates for roles in research, production, and agricultural consultancy.

Candidates must hold a B.Sc. degree in Chemistry, Zoology, Botany, Agriculture, or a related Life Science discipline with at least 55% marks from a recognized university. Admission is merit-based, considering performance in the qualifying examination, followed by an interview if applicable.
The program is designed for students with a background in biological and chemical sciences who wish to build expertise in agrochemicals, pest control, and sustainable crop management. Analytical aptitude and practical knowledge are key selection factors, preparing candidates for research, industry, and field-based agricultural roles.
B.Sc. degree with one of the following subjects: Chemistry, Zoology, Botany, Agriculture, and Related Life Science. 55% marks as the minimum percentage in a qualifying bachelor’s degree from any reputed college/educational institution.
