REVA University is offering PhD program in 20 disciplines in Arts, Commerce and Management Studies, Education, Engineering and Technology, Science and Technology and Humanities. The University also has well equipped infrastructure for advanced research. All Schools have also engaged in advanced research and undertake funded projects. All the provisionally registered candidates will have to undergo PhD Course Work of One Semester duration from the date of Provisional Registration. The Course Work is an essential component of research leading to a Doctoral Degree.

Duration of the Programme:

The minimum duration for Ph D programme is THREE years, including course work. However, extension up to SIX years period of registration beyond the above limits shall be permitted based on the recommendation of the concerned Research Supervisor.

Eligibility Criteria

Any candidate who satisfies the following conditions is eligible to seek registration for Ph.D. in Computer Science and Applications in a School of Computer Science and Applications upon application for provisional registration.

A candidate shall have Masters Degree (MCA, M Sc in Computer Science, Information Science and M S in Computer Science) or any other Degree / Diploma of the University or any other Degree / Diploma of any other University / Institution recognized as equivalent thereto, with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) or an equivalent Grade ) or an equivalent degree from a foreign educational Institution accredited by the approved Assessment and Accreditation Agency. However, a relaxation of 5% of marks, from 55% to 50%, or an equivalent relaxation of grade, is allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/Cat.-I/OBC (non-creamy layer) /differently-abled and other categories of candidates.
Candidates who have cleared the M. Phil. course work with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade 'B' in the UGC 7-point scale (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) and successfully completed the M. Phil. Degree.
A candidate shall be guided by a Research Guide of REVA University in the concerned subject
In case where the research of a candidate is inter/ multi-disciplinary in nature, the candidate may opt for a Co-guide (External) who shall also be the recognized Guide of the University in the concerned subject. However, the main responsibility of supervising the research work is vested with the Guide and the candidate shall finalize and submit the thesis through the Guide giving due acknowledgment and credit to the Co-guide which shall also be mentioned in the PhD Notification by the Registrar (Evaluation) after successful completion of PhD.
