Greetings dear Sindhu

Firstly, congrats on successful completion of your SRMJEEE Examination. The cut-off trends keeps changing every year and it depends on the number of students attempting the exam, difficulty level, number of available seats, etc. Getting a CSE seat is getting highly tough these days as the demand is very much. But, with a rank around 2000, you can easily secure a CSE or CSE with any specialization in SRM KTR Campus as the closing rank was around 9,500 - 10,500 for CSE core branch in SRMJEEE 2016. If not then you'll always be securing a CSE or any other seat in the other campuses of SRM University. So, just apply to their counselling process and secure a seat easily.

Hello Aspirant,

For SRMJEE 2021 as per previous year's cutoff, in order to get a seat into SRM KTR CSE branch your rank should be between 9500 - 10500. This was the cutoff rank during final round of councelling. And the cutoff rank for specialisation you need a rank below 15000. With your rank of 26000, it is difficult for you to get into CSE branch with specialisation or into IT branch. With your rank, you can get into other branches like Civil, Biomedical, Electronics and Instrumentation, Electrical and Electronics, Aerospace, Automobile and Chemical Engineering.

Hi Surya,

Based on your SRMJEEE Rank you might mostly get Non-IT branches or less preferred branches in SRM Campuses. A s per the cut-offs set by the experts and previous year's cut-off trends your rank falls under the range of Ranks for getting Non-IT branch in SRM Main Campus.

So, for IT Branches you can try in other SRM Campuses but chances are less. Cut-offs varies from year to year and depends on many factors like number of students appeared in the exam, number of seats available, category, difficulty level of the exam, etc.

May this helps you.

Best of Luck!!

Hello Pratimamomo

Hope you are doing good . With reference to your query , I want to inform you that SRM is much better options in any branch then NMIT bangalore because SRM holds 29th rank in nirf ranking and its Training placement officers in department of ECE is much and much better than ECE srm due to its high alumni network . I would like to add that quality of  teaching is also much better. More than 83 percent students got placed every year with an average package of 5lakhs in ECE section and highest went around 15lakhs

Hope you found this answer helpful. Good luck for your future

Both the campuses are unique in their own ways. Both are among the top colleges in India. I prefer to choose VIT vellore . There are some major reasons for choosing this. VIT has well infracture. It facilitates with good labs and huge library, books with various references. It also offers well teaching faculties with highly qualified degrees. One one the major reasons for choosing VIT is for best placements with good packages. Therefore it has the highest placement record in the university. The SRM university also offers the same but the major difference occurs at the Placements.  This made me to prefer VIT. Now the decision is upto you.
All the best.

Hi aspirant,

I guess you are an engineering aspirant from your profile in that case you should definitely prefer Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham over SRM institute of science and technology. Amrita college has built amazing reputation and is one of the top places to study. It is ranked 4th in university rankings and 20th in engineering by NIRF. It has a world class infrastructure with well mentioned labs and libraries. Talking about the placement records, more than 90 percent of the engineering students with an average package of 5.5-6 lacs per annum. You can read more about the college at https://www.careers360.com/university/amrita-vishwa-vidyapeetham-coimbatore/amp

The main campus of SRM University is also good and was established in year 1985. Currently ranked 41st in engineering rankings it has a huge campus with amazing infrastructure. The average package for engineering is around 4.5lpa with placement records around 75-80 percent. You can get more information about the college at https://www.careers360.com/university/srm-institute-of-science-and-technology-chennai/amp

Hope it helps!!

Hi aspirant,

There is absolutely no problems in changing your campus selection during the counselling process of SRMJEE. As per the guidelines of SRM institute of science and technology any candidate not satisfied with the seat allotted to them in initial rounds, they can do reapply in subsequent rounds by filling up their desired campus and course selection. However seat allotment in that will be subjected to your performance in SRMJEE.

Hope it helps!!

Hi aspirant,

Look, the seat allotment procedure is simply a game of demands and supply. The chances of you getting core CSE at SRM Ramapuram is descent though it depends upon some factors like-

  • Number of seats still remaining in the branch
  • Number of candidates who are ranked above you and will participate in the subsequent round.
  • The choice filling preferences of other candidates.

Suppose there are 10 students who were ranked above you and were not satisfied with their alloted seats then they will get prefered over you during the next round of counselling.

Hope it helps!!
