ApplyNAAC A+ Grade | Ranked No.1 Private University in India (QS World University Rankings 2025)
Hello Aishwarya.
Good to hear from you. As per the official website for SET, the qualifying mark is 50% of the total marks for General, 40% of the total for SC, ST and OBC category students. So, you should get at least the qualifying mark to be eligible for counseling.
All the best.
Symbiosis Law School is among the top private law schools of the country hence getting in is an achievement in itself. But many people who've applied may prefer a government law school so the waiting list will move ahead.
And as your rank is 30th there is not a great chance that you'll get in the 2nd Merit list. But I'll suggest you to wait for the third list as well.
All the Best!
Hi Gehna,
I think you should keep hope because there is still chance and sometimes it goes beyond 100. I will also suggest you to apply for another college just in case. Hope for the best.
Hello Triparna,
I am afriad you would be able to get into Symbiosis College of Arts and Commerce with your scores, since last year's cut offs were 92%; however do not lose hopes, it might drop or if you have any quota, it could be of help too.
However I would still suggest you to apply to other colleges, like DU or to private colleges like Amity.
I wish you all the best!
Hello Ananya,
With a waitlist of 400 on the second merit list in Symbiosis School for Liberal Arts. Your chances of getting into the college are somewhat decent. Waitlist means for example - for 120 seats, first 120 waiting are offered a seat first to, if none of them enroll then the next 120 are offered and so on. if no one enrolls then your waitlist would be cleared by fourth merit list. I would say you have a decent chance.
Hope that helps and feel free to ask if you have any more queries. Best of luck!
Hello Zarieus,
Symbiosis School of Economics started in 2002 whereas Sarla Anil Modi is a relatively new college started in 2010, due to this reason SSE is a more recognized instead than Sarla Anil Modi.
The campus and infrastructure of both the colleges is impressive and both provide Bachelor's and Master's courses in Economics.
The difference is that SSE provides specialization in various courses like Development Studies, International Trade whereas Sarla Anil Modi provides elective courses.
The placements offered by both the colleges are pretty similar because the type of companies that come are pretty much the same , however SSE might have an upper hand here due to its reputation.
So I would suggest to go with Symbiosis because the reputation and name of a college is also important for your career.
Hope this helps.
Sarla Anil Modi is a relatively new college started in 2010, it has good placements, great campus and infrastructure and offers full time BSc and MSc Economics courses with electives majoring in Economics, Finance and Business Management.
SSE was started in 2002 and has a certain level of reputation. Other than great campus and infrastructure, the department is better established. It offers both BSc and MSc in Economics with specialisation in International Trade, Development Studies and Urban Development. Placements are relatively same if not better than at Sarla Anil Modi, as the same type of companies visit both campuses offering relatively equal packages.
My take: SSE is better than Sarla Anil Modi if you count reputation and experience.
Symbiosis provides great infrastructure to their students and staffs. There is one big football ground at starting, one basketball court. Classrooms are also provide good facilities like bench, smart boards, table, fans and Ac. Library is huge and any student can have access at anytime. Canteen provides hygienic foods. Hostel is also well maintained. Campus area and hostel area are always clean.
I have studies in an online mode so, I've never experienced this. If we talk about SIU then i know that the campus infrastructure is best as it is situated at the hill top and the view that the students get is surreal! I've heard about the maintenance level SIU has! One of my batch mate went to university in person and he told that maintenance has been working thoroughly and the results can be seen.
This college are state-of-art infrastructure, fully wifi enabled campus with spacious classroom, auditorium and huge building, gym facility, sports facilities and 24×7 medical service available.labs are well equipped with instruments.
