Yes, definitely sport quota helps to students in getting admission in du colleges. For this you should have state and national level achievement in your 12th class. Apart from this students who wants to take admission through this required to fill online application form through sports quota only.

Its difficult to say number of seats availability because there are various colleges and after 6th cut off possibility is very less that seats will still be empty. 

Right now almost seats of all colleges are full under university of delhi as there is no information regarding 7th cut
