Vinayaka Missions University: Admission, Courses, Fees, Placements

Vinayaka Missions University was established in 1981 by the Thirumuruga Kirupananda Variyar Thavathiru Sundara Swamigal (TKVTSS) Medical Educational and Charitable Trust. In 2001, it was recognised by UGC as deemed to be university under section 3 of the UGC Act 1956. The university is accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC). The varsity campus covers an area of 271 acres and it has 217 faculty members. As per the official website, Vinayaka Mission’s Research Foundation vision is to use education as a tool to bring social change in the society. 

It offers 43 programmes at diploma, undergraduate and postgraduate level. The university provides admission on merit basis and entrance exam. NATA and JEE Main paper 2 scores are taken into consideration for B.Arch admissions. VMU conducts counselling for admission in all its programmes. The varsity has collaboration with numerous foreign institutions/universities. The students of Vinayaka Missions University are provided with various state level and national level scholarships. The university is located at Sankari Main Road, Ariyanur, Tamil Nadu. With a distance of 27.9 km, Salem Domestic Airport is the nearest airport to the varsity. The closest railway station to the campus is Salem Junction Railway Station. It is located 11 km away from the campus. Salem Bypass Bus Stop is closest to VMU with a distance of 2.6 km.

Vinayaka Missions University Facilities and Infrastructure

The campus of the university has individual boys and girls hostels for the accommodation of students. VMU facilities are a well-stocked library with an adequate number of books and journals, modern auditorium, cafeteria, auditorium, medical centre etc. The campus of the university has wifi for students. Vinayaka Missions University Courses

The varsity provides three diploma, one integrated, 25 undergraduate and 14 postgraduate programmes. Vinayaka Mission’s Research Foundation course list includes courses such as B.Ed., B.P.Ed., B.Sc., M.Sc., M.Optom etc. The courses are offered in architecture, education, allied sciences and various other disciplines. The duration of VMU UG courses range from 2 years to 5 years and Vinayaka Missions University PG courses are of 2 years duration. VMU courses are offered in regular mode.

Vinayaka Missions University Admissions

Candidates can take admission in diploma, integrated, undergraduate and postgraduate courses. For admission in B.Arch programme candidates need to appear for NATA/JEE Main paper 2 and obtain a valid score. VMU admissions to all other programmes is done on merit basis. For B.P.Ed. and BPES courses, candidates need to appear for a sports trials and personal interview as well. As per Vinayaka Missions University admission procedure, the admissions are offered to candidates via university level counselling. Vinayaka Mission’s Research Foundation Scholarships

The university provides a wide range of scholarships to students. Vinayaka Missions University scholarships are provided to students on merit basis i.e on the basis of academic performance. Vinayaka Missions University also provides numerous state level and national scholarships to its students. The university is registered at the national scholarship portal. A few of the Vinayaka Mission’s Research Foundation scholarships (state and national scholarships) that students can apply for are Post Matric Scholarships Scheme for Minorities, National Means Cum Merit Scholarship, PG Indira Gandhi Scholarship for Single Girl Child etc.

To provide job opportunities to the final year students, the university has a placement cell. Vinayaka Missions University placement drive is conducted by its placement cell. It invites companies and maintains contact with them. Every year students from undergraduate and postgraduate courses get placed at Vinayaka Missions University placements. According to the National Mission’s Research Foundation NIFR Report 2019-20, out of a pool of 1172 students of UG 3 year programme, 609 students were eligible for placement. Out of 609 students, 182 students got jobs in private and public sector and 75 students chose to study further.
