Barasat College, Kolkata: Admission, Courses, Fees, Placements

Established in 1972 as an affiliated college, the campus area measures 1.25 acres. It has 19 courses in 6 degree programmes. 5,948 students in aggregate and 55 in its faculty.

There are various facilities to help develop students all-round. There is a library serving the knowledge hub to provide students with information to seek and self-reliance. It also boasts of departmental laboratories that are well-equipped to give students practical experiences. A multi-gymnasium caters for exposures of the modern apparatus of physical fitness and recreation. An auditorium with seating capacity for some events and seminars also exists in the institution. IT infrastructure also exists within the institution.

The undergraduate level of Barasat College comprises all the courses taught at the full-time level. In this context, undergraduate courses are 19 different courses in the disciplines of Arts, Science, and Commerce. BA (Honours) courses held here are in Bengali, English, Political Science, and History; B.Sc (Honours) in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics; and B.Com in Accountancy and Marketing under the Commerce stream.

Admission to Barasat College is largely through a process of merit, and the rules set by the administration are followed in this regard.
