General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) is a three-year and six-month (including internship) full-time diploma program offered by Uttar Pradesh Nurses and Midwives, Lucknow, and approved by the Indian Nursing Council (INC).

Eligibility Criteria

1. The minimum Educational Qualification is 10+2 passed or its equivalent, preferably with science/Arts subjects on the first attempt with an aggregate of a minimum of 45% marks. An English subject with a minimum of 40% is compulsory.

2. 10+2 in Arts (Mathematics, Biotechnology, Economics, Political Science, History, Geography, Business Studies, Accountancy, Home Science, Sociology, Psychology, and Philosophy) and English Core/English Elective, or Health care Science-Vocational stream ONLY, passing out from recognized Board under AISSCE/CBSE/ICSE/ SSCE/HSCE or other equivalent recognized Board and is subjected to verification by UP Medical Facility.

3. The candidates shall be 17 years old on 31st December 2021. The Religious Sisters should be at least one year professed.

4. Candidates should be female, unmarried, of good health, and good moral character.

5. Physically and mentally fit to undergo the training.

6. All the courses are in English, and proficiency in this language is a requirement for admission. Students who are from the Hindi Medium should attend English coaching classes before joining the nursing course and submit a certificate of the same to the college office. Teaching is done in English; hence, the applicant should be able to speak, write, and understand English. This is not in any way to demean the vernacular language, but a conscious attempt to improve their academic performance.
