Situated at the very heart of Mumbai, this women-only institution was inducted in the year 1980 as a prestigious constituent college of SNDT Women's University. In the year 1980, C.U. Shah College of Pharmacy for Women, Mumbai, was started as a prestige constituency of SNDT Women's University. It has been shaping the future of pharmacy education for more than four decades. The college is fully approved by the Pharmacy Council of India, which ensures high-quality education and thus conforms to industry standards. With 190 total students, the college imparts a personalized learning experience by its faculty strength of 13, offering the courses in 6 nos. and degree programs in 3 nos. The institute has a diverse student body with undergraduate and postgraduate students in the ratio of 71% and 29%, respectively, thus promoting an atmosphere of academic excellence and women empowerment in the field of pharmacy education.
The institute is deeply committed to providing state-of-the-art infrastructure for enhancing the learning experience of its students. Well-equipped laboratories for undergraduate and postgraduate students to have hands-on practical experience are available in the campus. A comprehensive library with 3,966 titles and 30,183 volumes, along with a seating capacity of 237, is provided as a knowledge hub for aspiring pharmacists. The institution has also provided modern IT infrastructure, an auditorium for events and seminars, and sports facilities to help in the holistic development policy. There is a health center with first-aid facilities, a gym, and a cafeteria for the health and well-being of students. One more front where the college takes pride in providing a safe and congenial atmosphere for the students coming from outside to bloom is the girls' hostel accommodating more than 500 students.
It offers various full-time courses oriented to different specializations in the Pharmacy field. The institute provides 1 undergraduate program, 4 postgraduate programs, and a doctoral program. B.Pharma has an intake of 40 seats and M.Pharma programmes with a combined intake of 36 seats in different specialisations. It also offers a Ph.D. programme in Pharmacy; however, the intake capacity against this programme is not specified. This huge array of options at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels ensures that students are able to fulfill their interests in this field.
The admission procedure of the C.U. Shah College of Pharmacy for Women is highly competitive and strictly based on merit. For the B.Pharma course, candidates need to clear the Online Maharashtra Common Entrance Test conducted by the DTE. Applicants to the postgraduate courses require a valid and qualified GPAT score. If not appeared for GPAT then candidate may appear for MAH-MPH-CET. The college accepts applications from all over India. However, 98% of the students are from Maharashtra, and the remaining 2% are from other states of the country. This heterogeneous body of students enriches the learning environment. Scholarship facilities are also available to 53 undergraduate and 15 postgraduate students who have availed themselves of these facilities during the academic year 2022. You should have scored minimum 50 % in 12 th and qualifying examination
National level entrance exam is Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test(GPAT)
