The M.Sc. in Human Disease Genetics is a two-year postgraduate programme affiliated with Periyar University, offering an intake of 15 students. Centre for Human Genetics admission to the programme involves multiple stages: evaluation of the candidate’s coursework academic records, followed by an online written or video-based test, and finally, a personal interview conducted at CHG. Candidates who have cleared the JGEEBILS examination are exempted from the test and are directly eligible for the interview stage. A strong academic background in life sciences or allied disciplines is a mandatory prerequisite for this course.

Centre for Human Genetics admission in Ph.D. in Human Genetics is a full-time research programme with a maximum duration of six years. To be eligible, candidates must clear a national-level examination such as GATE, CSIR/UGC NET, DBT/ICMR JRF, JGEEBILS, or the Manipal University test, and must hold a currently valid research fellowship. The final selection is based on a personal interview conducted at CHG.
