All the best!!
Don't be up to said about seeing last year cut off.
Yes, it is difficult to see that possibility of getting college.
off maybe goes downward. So try your luck.
I hope you Get Good Luck for it.
As per your data if the previous year cut-off was 29863, then the cut-off for this year is expected to remain almost the same. With a 27991 rank, there is more than 90% chances that you will get the course but that can't be confirmed until the results are declared.\
It is very very rare, to see cutoff ranks decrease...
Hope you get into the college of your choice. Good Luck!
I am sorry to say this but there is no mention of such events such as fashion show in the official website of college of engineering chengannur. However it does hold a cultural fest which name is magnum which aims on providing a router for improving the technical and non-technical skills of the young engineering minds.
All the best
Yes there are chances that you can get a fee reduction, sometimes it is also depends on the family income.
There are a lot of schemes started by the government you can also have a fee reduction if you enter the college under TFW scheme but your family income must be under 6L per year to staisfy this scheme.
India has several of these institutes termed as the College of Engineering, suffixed by the name of the city it is located in. These were usually started when none others existed in the entire region for the topic of engineering. Many of them are also amongst the most respected in their region. One of them is the College of Engineering in Chengannur (CEC). The town of Chengannur, lies in the district of Alappuzha, part of Kerala. The river Pamba runs parallel to Chengannur. Among this category of colleges, this one is relatively recent, having only been founded in the year 1993.
The CEC was earlier affiliated to the APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University (APJAKTU), located in the state capital of Thiruvananthapuram. The APJAKTU was earlier known as the Kerala Technical University (KTU). Now the affiliation has shifted to the Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT), located as the name suggests, in the commercial hub of Kochi. This affiliation also ensures approval from the UGC (University Grants Commission). The technical courses in the institute have been recognized by the AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education). Further, the College of Engineering in Chengannur has been accredited by the NBA (National Board of Accreditation).
The CEC runs programmes at both the UG as well as PG levels. At the under- grad level, on offer are B. Tech programmes in the engineering areas of- Computer Science, Electronics & Instrumentation, Electrical & Electronics and for Electronics & Communication. At the master’s level, the courses get more technical and specialised. So, the M. Tech programmes are available for the areas of- Digital Images Processing and in VLSI (Very Large- Scale Integration) & Embedded Systems. The college is also a key facilitator of a Ministry of HRD initiative with the World Bank. It is a programme titled TEQIP (Technical Education Quality Improvement Programme).
The College of Engineering in Chengannur has also always believed in providing benefits to the broader society. The students here have likewise been instilled with such value. And that is why the students of this college have been active participants in government schemes such as the NSS (National Service Scheme) and the NCC (National Cadet Corps). The CEC has also been extremely proactive in sealing alliances with other educational institutions. This helps in research collaboration, facilitating exchange programmes and generating consulting assignments. One such partner is the State University of New York (SUNY), located in the city of New Paltz in the USA.
The entire academics here at the CEC is run by a cohort of five departments, each with expertise in its own area. Four of these are for the areas in which the B. Tech programme may be taken up. The fifth one is the Department of Applied Sciences. This handles the fundamental sciences of physics, chemistry and mathematics, plus the English language courses. Admissions to the UG programmes is via the KEAM (Kerala Engineering Architecture Management) exam. The CUSAT also conducts its own entrance test whose scores may be considered for this. The GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) may be used up for master’s level admissions.
Research too plays a very important role, here at the College of Engineering in Kerala. To fulfil this purpose, the library here is one of the best stocked within the region. Besides the physical books on display, it also provides digital access to en number of international academic journals for research and academic purposes. The CEC has also taken up memberships of several professional bodies. These help in developing students more holistically. Some of these bodies here are the PRODECC (Product Design and Development Centre), ISTE (Indian Society for Technical Education) and the IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers).
The campus has much to offer. There are hostel facilities for both boys and girls. Banking facilities with ATM are available in the campus’s vicinity. There is a sports field where cricket and football may be played. Facilities are also there for indoor sports. The gymnasium may also be used by all. A large auditorium is there to facilitate major events, at both intra and inter college level. The campus is Wi- Fi enabled. Science laboratories have the latest of equipment. A health centre is also there to cater to medical emergencies. Hygienic food is prepared at the college cafeteria. The college even has its own transport to ferry students to and from the campus. A convenience store is also located within campus.
The campus placements have also been impressive over several seasons now. Some of the key recruiters during this period, include the likes of- Siemens, IBM, Citibank, Infosys, Sasken, Mphasis, SCM, Wipro, Sun Tec, HCL, Bosch, Huawei, Dell, CSC, Accenture, Verizon, IBS, CSS Corp, Videocon, Syntel, Idea, TCS, Huawei, Cognizant, L&T, Genpact, I Patni, COSL, UST Global, Perot Systems, Verizon, Cisco, Reuters, Sutherland, Net Logic, Satyam, Hexaware and several more. There is also a thriving student life on campus. Several clubs and societies abound here, that take care of students’ co- curricular and extra- curricular demands. Nature, Arts and Sports are three of these most crucial areas.
