Dr Birinchi Kumar Barooah College, Puranigudam Facilities Details: Hostel, Campus, Infrastructure, Library, Canteen

The hostel facilities have been provided for girl students since the academic session 2010-11. At present, there are provisions for 22 (twenty-two) students only and extension work is going on. In the near future, we will be able to accommodate more and a number of students. Intending students may apply for hostel seats in the prescribed form. The students will be selected for admission to the college hostel on the basis of merit and distance.

An auditorium is an indispensable part of higher education institutions for developing the inherent talents of students in various fields. It is essential for holding college functions, meetings, seminars, workshops, etc.

The college has a well-equipped Gymnasium Hall for physical exercise and bodybuilding for the students and youths of the locality. A well-trained physical instructor gives the necessary training and instructions.

The college has a departmental-based laboratories facility for the students.

The college has sports facilities for all students.

The college has an excellent IT Infrastructure facility for the students.

The college has a canteen facility for staff and students.

The college library is enriched with nearly ten thousand volumes of texts and references books of eminent authors. Reference books of various kinds have definitely improved the quality of the library. National and regional newspapers, journals, and periodicals are available for the use of the students along with a spacious reading room. there is perhaps no limit to the standard of a well-managed library and hence we are still trying to improve and modernize the library. Books are issued to the students having a library card from 10 AM to 2 PM. A student can borrow two books at a time, for a fixed period of 15 days. After that, the same books may be reissued. The college has reading room facilities for students and to guide them there are a qualified librarian and a bearer. In case of any damage or loss of books, the student is bound to purchase one to return it to the library.

The college has good networking for the Alumni association.

The college has a health center with a first aid facility for the students.

The college also provides good classroom facilities for all the students.

The college has guest house/waiting room facilities for visiting faculty and student family members.
