Dr Birinchi Kumar Barooah College, Puranigudam Facilities Details: Hostel, Campus, Infrastructure, Library, Canteen

The college has provided hostel facilities for female students since the academic session 2010-11. At present, there are provisions for 22 (twenty-two) students only, and extension work is going on. Shortly, we will be able to accommodate more students. Intending students may apply for hostel seats in the prescribed form. The students will be selected for admission to the college hostel based on merit and distance.

The college has an auditorium, which is an indispensable part of higher education institutions for developing the inherent talents of students in various fields. It is essential for holding college functions, meetings, seminars, workshops, etc.

The college has a well-equipped Gymnasium Hall for physical exercise and bodybuilding for the students and youths of the locality. A well-trained physical instructor gives the necessary training and instructions.

The college has a departmental-based laboratory facility for the students.

The college has sports facilities for all students.

The college has an excellent IT Infrastructure facility for the students.

The college has a canteen facility for staff and students.

The college library is enriched with nearly ten thousand volumes of texts and reference books by eminent authors. Reference books of various kinds have improved the quality of the library. National and regional newspapers, journals, and periodicals are available for the use of the students, along with a spacious reading room. There is perhaps no limit to the standard of a well-managed library, and hence, we are still trying to improve and modernize the library. Books are issued to the students with a library card from 10 AM to 2 PM. A student can borrow two books at a time for a fixed period of 15 days. After that, the same books may be reissued. The college has reading room facilities for students, and to guide them,, there is a qualified librarian and a bearer. In case of any damage or loss of books, the student is bound to purchase one to return it to the library.

The college has good networking for the Alumni association.

The college has a Wi-Fi facility for students and staff.

The college has a health center with a first aid facility for the students.

The college also provides Smart Classroom facilities for all the students.

The college has guest house/waiting room facilities for visiting faculty and student family members.

The college has a parking space facility for its faculty, staff, and students.

The College has an Eco Club to motivate the different stakeholders of the college, especially the young students, to imbibe eco-friendly habits and lifestyles. The main aim of establishing the Eco Club is to conserve natural resources and the natural environment, to create an eco-friendly environment, to create awareness on biodiversity conservation and local environmental issues among the students, and to create a clean and green consciousness among students through various innovative methods. It has been organizing different programmes since its establishment to spread awareness among the students and local people on a clean and green environment and sustainable development. 

The College has a Placement cell. The Career Guidance and Committee Placement Cell of Dr. B.K.B. College has been established to address the diverse socio-economic challenges and geographic backgrounds of the heterogeneous population of students, vis-à-vis equity of access and placement opportunities through the availability of appropriate institutional support information. The main objective of the cell is to provide relevant and accessible information coupled with professional guidance to achieve better career opportunities outside the classroom and help the students in their healthy academic progression
