B.Sc Paramedical Technology Perfusion Technology at Dr DY Patil Medical College, Navi Mumbai Offline Course

Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) in Paramedical Technology Perfusion Technology is a three-year full-time course degree offered by Dr DY Patil University, Navi Mumbai.

The B. Sc. in Cardiac Perfusion Technology is a 3-year undergraduate program under which, we train students to work as cardiac perfusion technologist. After undergoing training in subjects of basic medical sciences, students are trained to study physiology, pathology and associated equipment used to support and/or assume the function of the heart and/or lungs during cardiac surgical procedures. The students gets adequate knowledge about basics of non-invasive diagnostic and therapeutic interventional procedures related to operating the heart lung machines, ECHO cardiograph and intra-aortic balloon pump. Perfusion technologists prepare and operate heart-lung machines and other sophisticated equipment as directed by experts. Further, perfusionists measure blood pressure and other parameters to identify appropriate mechanical, pharmacological and thermal manipulation to maintain tissue viability. Additionally, the students get acquainted with handling stressful situations, paying great attention to detail, communicating effectively, and willing to stay abreast of new developments in the profession. At the end of program, students become competent to work in cardiac institutions or as assistant to cardiac surgeon.
