MD Pharmacology at Dr DY Patil Medical College, Navi Mumbai Offline Course

Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) in Pharmacology is a three-year full-time postgraduate course, offered by Dr DY Patil University, Navi Mumbai, and approved by National Medical Commission (NMC).

This is a post-graduate program of 3 years tenure, recognised by the Medical Council of India. The program involves rotational postings in the departments of Pathology, Anatomy, Biochemistry, Microbiology, General Medicine, TB and Chest Medicine and Dermatology. Besides General Pathology, the student is exposed to quality work in Cytology, Dermatopathology, Neuropathology, Oncopathology and Haematopathology. The department has a well equipped laboratory with state of art facilities and a dedicated post-graduate section with a penta-head microscope and well equipped library that is open round the clock.

The student thus gains from the state of art infrastructure coupled with dedicated and experienced teachers . The practical training entails, diagnostic interpretation of laboratory tests, histopathology and cytology. In addition to this the student gains by interaction with clinical services, understanding of technical methods, instrumentation, information systems, quality assurance and Laboratory management. This extensive practical training is backed by impartation of sound theoretical knowledge via the medium of lectures, seminars, case discussions and journal clubs.

The program gives adequate clinical and research experience to the student . It facilitates the development of excellent diagnostic skills in addition to a sound judgement in the practice of Pathology and all its sub-specialties.
