M.Sc Cardiac Perfusion Technology at Dr DY Patil Medical College, Navi Mumbai Offline Course

Master of Science (M.Sc) in Cardiac Perfusion Technology is a two-year full-time course degree offered by Dr DY Patil University, Navi Mumbai.

The M. Sc. Cardiac Technologist programme is a 2 year postgraduate program under which, we train students to work as cardiac technologist in medical cardiology unit. Students get detailed knowledge about anatomy, physiology and pathology of heart diseases. We also provide them knowledge of ECG recording and monitoring, echocardiography, basic non-invasive diagnostic and therapeutic interventional procedures in heart disease. Students work with cardiologist and as a team member they take medical histories, perform clinical examination, write order for laboratory tests and x-rays and assist the doctors in clinical procedures. Further, to develop research attitude they have to complete a dissertation on one topic given by mentor. Students are involved and trained in administrative and record keeping work. They get an opportunity to work in cardiac ICU as well as Cath Labs. We further train them to manage ECMO. At the end of two years, students become competent to work as cardiac technologist in cardiology unit. They are also eligible to hold academic positions in schools of allied health science and train undergraduate students.
