Dr Shivanand Nautiyal Government PG College, Karanprayag Facilities Details: Hostel, Campus, Infrastructure, Library, Canteen

The College has a Library with a sufficient number of Reference Books, Text Books for U.G. and P.G. levels, and Books related to the Book Bank. The college library contains magazines, journals, and over 26,500 books of all three disciplines: Arts, Science, and Commerce. The books in the library belong to all three disciplines, viz., arts, science, and commerce. The computer and internet facilities are also available at the college library for student use. 

Teh College has not its own playground. During the annual sports Nagar Palika Gochar provides us playground.  Players of the college use the Gochar for practice which is 10 Km away from the college campus. In Annual sports all the athletics events are carried out the Gochar playground. For indoor event college has its own multipurpose hall where badminton and T.T. games are played. It has capacity of one badminton court and one T.T. table. In the college campus there volley ball ground in which volley ball game is plyed. When there is large number of participants in the indoor games Nagar Palika Karanprayag provides us its indoor complex. College will develop its own playground in future in the nearby place which is still remains undeveloped due to some technical problem. 

The College has a well-equipped and well-managed laboratory for UG and PG courses offered by the university. Important equipments present in the department include Autoclave, Centrifuges, various types of microscopes such as Compound, Binocular, Trinocular Research Microscope with camera, BOD incubator, Mini Horizontal Gel electrophoresis, Digital balance, Herbarium cabinet, Digital pH meter, etc. Department has well established facility for cytological studies of mitosis and meiosis. There is a Spectrophotometry (both single beam and double beam) facility (attached to the chemistry department) available for PG students. Our laboratory provides a setting for students to explore biological questions relevant to plants while developing fundamental skills in the field of botany through a combination of field and laboratory experiments. 

The College has an auditorium facility for events and seminars.

The College has guest house/waiting room facilities for visiting faculty and student family members.

The College has good networking for the alumni association. An alumni association of old students is constituted in the college to contribute to the developmental activities of their matter.

The College has an excellent IT Infrastructure facility for the students.

The College has a health center with a first aid facility for the students.

The College has also encourages students to participate in extracurricular activities like NSS and NCC.

The College has also provides classroom facilities for all the students.
