Government Girls College, Khargone Admission Process

Government Girls College, Khargone, and is a prime institution for women's education in Madhya Pradesh. The college caters to a plethora of undergraduate and postgraduate programs across Arts, Commerce, Science and Social Science streams.  The whole admission process of Government Girls College, Khargone, is very simple and accessible. Being a government college, it follows the state government's admission policies and reservation norms. Normally, admission to the college starts in the months following the publication of the results of the 12th standard exams.

All applicants would have to fulfill the eligibility requirement laid down for each course to be admitted to the course program. In case of undergraduate programs, the candidate must have completed the 10+2 board examination. Requirement for a bachelor's degree in the appropriate subject is needed for master's programs. The college's discretion shall apply in determining whether to include qualifying examination scores.

1. Notification: Admission notifications from the college are published across various media channels and on the official website.

2. Application Form: Interested candidates could get these application forms from the college office or download them through the official website of the Department of Higher Education, Madhya Pradesh.

3. Form Filling: The application form needs to be filled accurately by the candidates with the correct personal and academic particulars and to mention which course he/she is applying for and necessary particulars.

4. Document Submission: A candidate has to attach necessary above-mentioned documents with the duly filled admission application form as well:

  • 10th and 12th standard mark sheets for UG courses or Bachelor's degree mark sheets for PG courses
  • Transfer Certificate from the last attended institution
  • Character Certificate
  • Caste Certificate (if applicable for reservation category)
  • 2-3 Recent passport-sized photographs

5. Application Submission: The completed application form along with all of the documents mentioned above has to be submitted to the college office within the prescribed time period.

6. Merit List: The merit list is to be prepared on the basis of the marks gained by students in the qualifying examination and as per the reservation policy of the state government.

Degree-wise Admission Process

B.A.: The college has a Bachelor of Arts program, which has 300 seats. Admission to the B.A. program is made according to the marks obtained in the 12th standard examination. From subjects under the Arts stream, students can undertake different subjects.

B.Sc.: There are three B.Sc. programs available

  1. B.Sc in Botany, Chemistry and Zoology (200 seats)
  2. B.Sc in Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics (80 seats)
  3. B.Sc in Computer Science, Mathematics and Physics (80 seats)

Admissions into the programs will be based on the 12th standard marks in science subjects.

B.Com with Computer Applications: This program has made available 80 seats for its students. The criteria for admission are the 12th standard marks-based ranking; however, students from the commerce stream are given a preference based on merit.

B.H.Sc. (Bachelor of Home Science): The college has 80 seats under this program. Admission is based on the merit achieved in the 12th standard with a preference for students from Home Science or allied areas.

M.A. Programs:

  1. M.A. in Social Work (80 seats)
  2. M.A. in Sociology (40 seats) Postgraduate programs are normally considered for admission on the basis of the percentage obtained in the corresponding bachelor's degree. 

M.Sc Home Science: This program offers postgraduate entrance for 30 students. The admission criterion is based on marks received in the correlated B.Sc. Home Science or similar undergraduate qualification.
