Government Lahiri College, Chirimiri, is a reputed institute of excellence in education. It offers undergraduate/postgraduate courses in a multitude of streams such as Arts, Science, Commerce, and Computer Application. The admission process at Government Lahiri College is simple, easily accessible, and quite strictly merit-based.

Degree wise Admission Process
BA: 660 seats are available in BA programs from Government Lahiri College. Admission to the BA program is based on merit as determined by the performance in the 10+2 qualifying examination.
B.Sc: 540 seats are available in the B.Sc programs. The criteria for admission to B.Sc, just like to BA, is merit, which includes students' 10+2 examination scores, especially in science subjects.
B.Com: The Bachelor of Commerce course has an intake of 540 students at Government Lahiri College. Admission to the B.Com program is merit-based, with consideration given to the student's performance in the qualifying examination, especially in commerce-related subjects.
BCA: The Bachelor of Computer Applications program has 90 seats. Admission into BCA is also done on a merit basis, with special emphasis on the candidate's performance in the 10+2 examination in mathematics and computer science.
MA: The college offers Master of Arts in various subjects, including Sociology, Political Science, Economics, Geography, and Hindi Literature. Each MA program has 40 seats (except for MA Hindi Literature, which has 30 seats). Admissions are based on merit with respect to performance in a bachelor's degree.
M.Sc: Government Lahiri College offers M.Sc. in Botany, Chemistry, and Zoology, with an intake of 40 students in each subject. Admission shall be on merit, depending on the performance of the candidates in their B.Sc. degree in the respective subject.
M.Com: The Master of Commerce program has 40 seats available. Merit is the basis for admission, guided by the performance of the candidate in their B.Com or equivalent degree.
PGDCA: The Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Applications program has an intake of 40 students. Admission is done on merit based on the performance of the candidate's Bachelor's degree.
Their academics and curriculum wasvery inclusive but needed to be updated as their methodology and syllabus along with study pattern was kind of old and has been same since many years.The faculty was very interactive and very helping.
Teachers and faculty members are great and experienced ones who always supports the students. The college curriculum is very up to date and provides various Undergraduate and post graduate degree programs
