The Government Lawngtlai College follows the Common University Entrance Test (CUET UG) for admissions to its undergraduate courses, while it is one of the tests the candidate must pass before gaining admission to Government Lawngtlai College. The exam is usually held in May; the next CUET UG will take place from May 15 to May 24, 2025.

The eligibility conditions to enter Government Lawngtlai College include completing a 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognised board.
