Government Post Graduate College, New Tehri Admission 2025: Dates, Application Form, Courses, Fees & Eligibility

The Government Post-Graduate College located in New Tehri, which is also casually known as GPGC New Tehri, is an important institution of higher learning offering undergraduate and master's programs in Garhwal, Uttarakhand. Any series of admission processes are adopted by the college to select upon deserving candidates for admission into its varied programs. The admission cycle for GPGC New Tehri usually starts in May-June for an academic year starting in August-September months. CUET UG, which is a national entrance examination conducted at an all-India level that's the major merit measure for admission into undergraduate programs, comes after. 

The time for the CUET UG examination for the next academic session is set to be between May 15 to May 24, 2025. Application processes differ according to level and program for GPGC New Tehri:

For Undergraduate Programs (B.A., B.Sc., B.Com.):

1. Register for CUET UG and appear for the examination.

2. After announcement of CUET UG results, eligible candidates can apply to GPGC New Tehri.

4. Pay the PG application fee as prescribed by the college.

Degree wise admission procedure

B.A.: GPGC New Tehri runs various B.A. programs with an overall capacity of 924 seats across 12 specializations. Admission is being carried on the basis of CUET UG scores. Areas of specialization popular with students include Hindi, English, History, Political Science, and Geography, with an intake of around 80-120 seats for each of them.

B.Sc.: B.Sc. programs at the college have an intake of 858 seats over 9 specializations. Selection is through the CUET UG. Chemistry (240 seats), Zoology (160 seats), Physics (80 seats), and Mathematics (80 seats) are some major specializations.

B.Com.: B.Com. program has 88 seats, and admission is done based on the CUET UG merit.

M.A.: GPGC New Tehri offers 11 M.A. specializations with a cumulative intake of 300 seats. Under every specialization, Hindi, English, History, Political Science, each intake 30 seats, while Geography and Home Science intake 20 seats each.

M.Sc.: The college offers 8 M.Sc. specializations with a cumulative intake of 170 seats. Each specialization, viz., Physics, Chemistry, Zoology, and Botany, intake 20 seats, while Mathematics takes 30.

M.Com.: The M.Com. program has 30 seats for aspiring postgraduate commerce students.
