Himachal Pradesh University Business School, Shimla was established in 1970 through an Act of Himachal Pradesh State Legislature, and it is an affiliating-cum-residential University in India. Himachal Pradesh University is the only multi-faculty and affiliating University in the state. It is located in Summer Hill which is 5 kms from the main town, Shimla. Candidates seeking admission in this programme have to appear for the Himachal Pradesh Combined Management Aptitude Test (HP-CMAT).

The facilities of Himachal Pradesh University Business School include a library, and an IT laboratory. The library of the Himachal University is six-storeyed and has around two lack books. It has also subscribed to around 540 journals, out of which, around 385 journals are national and around 155 journals are international. The departmental libraries have their own collection of textbooks and references for the students and teachers. The library of the business school has the latest volumes of books and VCDs on management.
