If we compare the two IHMs both are on the same level in terms of facilities, faculty etc. However, I suggest that you go for IHM Gwalior as it will be closer to home. Not only this, if you compare the cut off rank for both the colleges, IHM Gwalior has a slightly lower cut off rank than the two. This means that the quality of the students will be slightly better in IHM Gwalior than in IHM Gurdaspur. Good education is not all about facilities, and good teachers, sometimes it is about having competent people around you as well. The more you compete, the better you become. If we take all these factors into consideration, I suggest you take IHM Gwalior. Also, if you go to Careers360 website, it rates IHM Gwalior higher than IHM Gurdaspur.

You should should contact the admission team for the insititute and tell them about your issue. You will definately get a workaround for the above problem.

If in first round you got a college of third choice then getting a first prefernce college would be very diffcult. My advice would be to wait till entire selection list comes and then you can decide.
