72 MonthsPh.D. program in Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering Part time shall be for a minimum duration of three years, including course work, and a maximum of six years. Extension beyond the above limits will be governed by the relevant clauses as stipulated in the Statute/Ordinance of the individual Institution concerned offered by Nirma University, Ahmedabad.
Eligibility Criteria
A master's degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline from a recognized university with atleast 55% marks in aggregate or equivalent grade
OR
A 4-year's bachelor degree programme or equivalent in a relevant discipline from a recognized university with atleast 75% marks in aggregate or equivalent grade
OR
An MPhill degree in a relevant discipline from a recognized university with atleast 55% marks in aggregate or equivalent grade
Candidates appearing in final year degree examination can also apply, provided they furnish proof of meeting the minimum eligibility criteria at the time of joining the programme.
Admission Details
The selection criterion for admission to Ph.D. programs are as under:
- The Entrance Test shall be conducted for eligible candidates wherein the qualifying marks will be 50%. The syllabus of the Entrance Test shall consist of 50% of research methodology and 50% shall be subject-specific. (The detailed syllabus is available on the website).
- The list of candidates clearing the entrance test (50%) shall be declared on the notice board/ website of the University.
- An interview/viva-voce is to be organized by the University where the candidates are required to discuss their research interest/area through a presentation before Department Research Committee specified under R.Ph.D. 2.3.
- The candidates who qualify for the UGC-NET (Including JRF) UGC-CSIR NET (Including JRF) SLET / GATE / GPAT with a valid score in terms of cut-off marks and duration, teacher fellowship holder or who have passed the MPhil program shall be exempted from appearing in the entrance test and deemed to be qualified for a personal interview.
