General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) is a three-year six-month full-time diploma program offered by Punjab Nurses Registration Council, Chandigarh, and approved by the Indian Nursing Council (INC).


Eligibility Criteria

  • The minimum and maximum age for admission will be 17 and 35 years. There is no age bar for ANM/LHV.
  •  Minimum education:
    (a) 10+2 class passed preferably Science (PCB) & English with an aggregate of 40% marks.
    (b) 10+2 in Arts and English Core/ English Elective or Health care Science - Vocational stream ONLY, passing out from a recognized Board under CBSE/State/Centre or other equivalent Board with 40% marks.
    (c) 10+2 vocational ANM course from the school and recognized by the Indian Nursing Council with 40% marks
    (d) Registered as ANM with the State Nursing Registration Council.
  • The student shall be medically fit.

Admission Details

admission to the GNM is made strictly on the merit and Personal Interview of the Qualifying Examination. In case of marks of 2 or more students are the same, the age factor will determine the merit. the older candidate will be selected.
