JJM can do better

Posted on 13 Oct' 15 by Roshni singh
Batch of 2016 | MBBS
After completing 5.5 years in JJM Medical College, I feel like the college can do better, patient exposure is excellent but it lacks behind in infrastructure and faculty. JJM fails in adding color to fun part of college life. Being an old it has established good status but they should work more in increasing the quality. Areas in which they can make changes are infrastructure, faculty, hostel facilities, pleasure activities and even they can do something to make classes interesting by adding case based classes. I also feel the amount which we pay is not used in right way; we get less than the amount we pay. As I am doing my internship, I feel great when I get to learn anything but same time at some point I feel like we non Karnataka students should be paid at least 30%-40% of stipend that Karnataka students get so that we can manage our travel expenditure and for the snacks we need to provide for staffs. Inspire of my complaints I don't regret doing mbbs in this college.

It is a very good college academically. Most of the faculty is brilliant and much more dedicated than one would expect from a private college (specially paediatrics and obg). The only drawback being the college life and food (because I am a north Indian). An unforgettable experience overall.
