The college was established in 1996. MIET, Jammu is Private university affiliated to University of Jammu, Jammu. The college offers various courses at undergraduate and postgraduate level. MIET, Jammu UG courses include BE Computer Science and Engineering, B.Tech Cyber Security, BE Civil Engineering, BE Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, BE Electrical Engineering, BE Electronics and Communication Engineering. For MIET, Jammu UG admissions candidates must have passed class 12th with at least 50% marks from a recognised board also valid score in JEE Mains and JKCET conducted by NTA and Jammu and Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examination (BoPEE) respectively. 

All the courses are offered in full time mode only. The college also provides Postgraduate courses to the students. MIET, Jammu PG courses include MBA, MCA, M.Tech Computer Science Engineering. MIET, Jammu PG admissions are offered to candidates who must hold a bachelor’s degree from a recognised board. Also students must have scored a decent score in CAT, CMAT, MAT, GATE.
