I had Joined the college thinking that it has decent placements and very good faculty. I was wrong. Not all faculty members are good. There are only a few very excellent faculties(Few professors and 4-5 lecturers). Most of the lecturers do not know what they are teaching. The lecturers have more shortage of attendance than students. The male lecturers are partial towards female students. After internals, when girls go to check their papers, they get additional marks for no justifiable reason. Some lecturers take advantage of the college being Autonomous. They intentionally fail students during labs if they feel like it. Coming to the infrastructure, the EC department is on the 3rd floor and there are only 2 elevators to cater to the needs of around 3000-4000 students. There Wi-Fi facility, but you can only access intranet services, not Internet services. The college is in the middle of a Jungle and you cannot access Mobile data inside the college. The college claims to be a member of NPTEL, but not a single NPTEL lecture video can be accessed from the college. The library is very small. Though the college is Autonomous, it still follows outdated syllabus of the Vtu that has been criticized so much in the newspaper. The Lecturers advice us to follow standard books, but they themselves refer local author text books. Coming to placements, there is a lot of placements in the college. But core companies for E&C are very few or none at all. The major recruiters are Infosys, Accenture and Wipro offering no more than 3.5 lakhs CTC(same packages offered to Bsc and Bcom Graduates). The core companies only recruit CD students. The college leaves no chance of making money. They take so much money as branch fund for technical and cultural festivals and during these fests all students wonder as to why they paid so much for branch fund. The students themselves end up paying the cost of organizing the events. During the final year when students land a job in an MRC, he/she will be wondering was it worth 4yrs of engineering to get a job in a company paying the same packages to BA, Bsc and Bcom Graduates? For day scholars especially who travel 60 kms daily one way it wasn't worth it. For all people from Mangalore/Udupi and everyone else I would like to say that if you think you are joining a good engineering college, you are wrong. The other colleges nearby are much better. The other colleges really cater to the students needs. This college is only high in ranking because it is one of the older colleges and students joining the college have decent Rank. But you can observe that not a single student(Even Gold medalists) will be GATE Qualified. Students who study BE here will be masters of M.Tech(Mugging Technology). Lastly I would like to say that this is only my opinion and I am not forcibly telling you not to join the college. I am just telling this because I was a day scholar from Mangalore and every day I used to wake up at 6 and leave for college by 7. I would reach home only after 7. I could not do a wonderful project nor could I qualify in GATE. After my graduation I still did not get my joining date despite being placed. Now I am at the same place as I was before I joined engineering. This is all I would like to say.

Internet access(Campus WiFi) is bad. Teaching is excellent. Hostel is good. Food courts are satisfactory. Over all college is amazing. The environment is peaceful. Lot of exposure to industrial experience. It is fun to work and learn. Sports is also encouraged. Lot of workshops and other guest lectures are conducted. The campus recruitment is very good. Placement training are also conducted. They also train us for masters course. Student exchange programs are conducted every year. I recommend this college to anyone reading this

College life is something that we enjoyed the most, the faculty is well experienced and helpful in nature. Classroms are well equiped. Hostels are safe, though boring and heat is unbearable during summer seasons . Field trips are organised to familiarise students with industrial activities.

Being a Medical aspirant, thinking of joining engineering was a very tough decision. I joined NMAMIT as a management student in the year 2014. The college was way more than I expected .The college campus is amidst greenery and hills. You can enjoy the scenic beauty of the Nitte village from the 5th floor . The education system is very good than most of the colleges in Karnataka. It is an autonomous college affiliated to VTU. All the lecturers are well qualified and the quality of teaching is excellent. Equal importance is given to co curricular activities and sports. There are many college run clubs like the Rachana(the art club) ,Silver screen(the movie club), Grey matter(quiz club),kalanjali dance club ,stereo club etc.Adding to these are the team Nitte racing and aero club. The college boasts a international level cricket ground being curated for ranji matches. The national level basketball selections for 2015 was conducted in the indoor stadium of NMAMIT. There are several food joints in and around the college. The college is just 55kms from Mangalore ,and 35kms from Manipal. So I strongly recommend this college if you want to have fun doing engineering
