Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru College of Agriculture and Research Institute in Karaikal, Puducherry is a recognized institution catering to programs in agriculture and allied sciences. Admission to the college for undergraduate and postgraduate programs is via a stringent process whereby only the most deserving candidates are selected.

Admission for undergraduates is held on the basis of CUET UG. Integrated four-year courses, B.Sc Agriculture (Hons) and B.Sc Horticulture (Hons), are offered to the undergraduate candidates. Students must have passed Higher Secondary (10+2) or equivalent with the subjects in requisite combination.

1. For undergraduate programs:

2. For postgraduate programs:

• Check eligibility for the applied M.Sc program

• Apply according to the notification

3. The documents' submission:

4. Counseling and admission:
Merit and category-wise counseling will be conducted for the shortlisted candidates.
The candidates have to report on or before the due date mentioned in the admission offer.
In case of failure to report on time, admission would be forfeited.

5. Provisional admission:
All admissions are provisional.
Final admission is subject to university approval.

7. Special categories:
For undergraduate programs, Foreign Nationals, NRI, and NRI-sponsored candidates carry a distinct admission procedure.

B.Sc Agriculture (Hons) and B.Sc Horticulture (Hons):

• The admission is done based on the merit of 10+2 results.

• CUET UG is also considered.

• Age limit: 21 years (25 years for SC/ST and NRI candidates).

• B.Sc Agriculture (Hons) has accepted an intake of 120 seats.

• B.Sc Horticulture (Hons) has accepted an intake of 40 seats.

M.Sc Programs (Genetics and Plant Breeding, Vegetable Science, Soil Science and Agricultural Chemistry, Agricultural Economics, Agronomy):

• The merit category of candidates forms the basis of admission.

• The number of vacancies remaining at the time of counseling.

• Candidates must hold a bachelor's degree in a relevant field.

• Same admission procedure is followed for all M.Sc programs that are offered.

PAJANCOA & RI offers scholarship facilities for its students. In 2023, a total of 38 undergraduate and 2 postgraduate students received reimbursements pertaining to the institute's financial support for students.
