College Infrastructure
Semcom is quite an old building so due to that the college is constructed in old style . It looks like an old building and has less facilities . The classrooms ans everything are old and can be guessed after visiting the campus once.
Academics
The academics in Semcom is good . Faculties here are all PHDians . They are all highly qualified . The professors are really humble and they look after their students . Due to such highly qualified teachers , it improves the academics of the college .
Placements
A lot of big big companies come in here in the college for the placement of the students. Students are guaranteed placements in all the reputed firms. I personally have no idea about the placement because firstly I am a first year student and secondly due to COVID I wasn't able to be at the campus more.

I really do not have any idea about the campus life because I have not spent much time in there due to the COVID-19 situation.

the average salary offered is also nice. It is said that people in our branch get placements easily in this college.but if you work hard and upgrade your skills you can get a good package .The highest salary package is 38 lakhs per annum. The average salary offered is around 10lpa.

Exams are divided into 4 semesters throughout the btech means Each year 2 semester and each semester has 2 mid exams and other is lab exams and viva. This is the process of examination.

HIT is one of the oldest engineering college of West Bengal. The college has built it's reputation over the time & tried to provide all the essential facilities & amenities to the students. But still there is much improvement required as the industry demand is changing vastly.
Academics
Academics of the college is average. The courses aren't that updated upto the industry standards. The professors are also not that well qualified. But a few of them are good. The college is recently upgrading the curriculum which is actually good but still the result won't be visible overnight.

Placement of HIT is not that bad but for CSE & IT the placement is good but for our batch it was average as students from mechanical went to IT jobs. The college needs to attract core companies for other streams to visit the campus & then only the placement would be much better.
