    About Royal College of Engineering and Technology, Thrissur

    RCET – Royal College of Engineering and Technology was started in the year 2003 and has its campus located at Thrissur in Kerala. Located in a vast area of approximately 25 acres of land, RCET is becoming a centre for engineering courses at different levels. The college is placed under the Kerala Technological University and holds NAAC accreditation. RCET is affiliated to All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) which is India’s statutory body that deals with Technical Education. The college actively follows the policy of student admissions providing an acceptable student faculty ration as a total of 727 students and 104 faculties signify.

    Royal College of Engineering and Technology proud possess of original and well developed infrastructural facilities to support the total educational needs of the students. The college provides particular hostels for boys and girls, it can contain 150 boys and 300 girls, under the headship of wardens, matrons and resident tutors. A health centre with all basic amenities, including a first aid service is available for the health needs of the campus. It boasts of a central library which is completely computerised, and belongs to the Dewey Decimal Classification scheme, thus providing students with an enormous collection of documents. For those who value their physical training, there is a contemporary gym on the territory of the university. Under the heading of sports and games the college was quite dedicated of providing a all round development of the students and the college has frequently performed quite well in many intercollegiate tournaments.

    RCET offers a broad range of academic programmes and courses, in which the college offers 9 courses of 2 degree programmes. There are the undergraduate and postgraduate ones mainly offered in a number of fields of engineering. The list of the B.Tech programmes include Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Robotics and Automation. while at post graduate level the college offers M.Tech in computer science and engineering and communication engineering. In several B.Tech programmes, RCET also offers lateral-entry programmes for diploma holders. 

    The admissions made in RCET is mainly through the Kerala Engineering Architecture Medical (KEAM) entrance examination approved by the Commissioner of Entrance Exams, Government of Kerala. Any person who wants to pursue education in one of these institutions must enrol and pass this test gaining minimum 10 marks in paper 1 and 10 marks in paper 2 papers and must be on the KEAM Rank List.

B.Tech programmes are accepted as per the KEAM rank list. Total admission is 360 seats through different B.Tech streams in the college.
