Eligibility Criteria for Admission to Diploma Courses (Post-SSC)

• Nationality: The candidate must be an Indian citizen.
• Educational Qualification: Minimum Qualification: Candidates must have passed the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examination (Class 10th) or its equivalent from a recognized board.
• Minimum Marks: A minimum of 35% aggregate marks in the SSC or equivalent examination is required. This applies to all candidates, including those from reserved categories.
• Compulsory Subjects: Candidates must have passed with Mathematics, Science (Physics and Chemistry), and English as mandatory subjects in their SSC examination.
• Age Limit: There is no specific upper age limit prescribed by MSBTE for admission to polytechnic courses, as long as the candidate meets the educational eligibility criteria. However, candidates are generally expected to be at least 14 years old at the time of admission (based on typical post-SSC admission norms).

Eligibility Criteria for Direct Second Year Admission (Lateral Entry):

• Nationality: The candidate must be an Indian citizen.
• Educational Qualification: Candidates must have completed one of the following qualifications from a recognized institution/board: HSC (12th Standard) Science with Vocational/Technical Subjects:
• Passed Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSC) examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) as compulsory subjects OR with vocational/technical subjects (e.g., Bifocal courses like Electronics, Mechanical Maintenance, etc.).
• Minimum 35% aggregate marks in HSC (no separate entrance exam required).
• HSC (12th Standard) Science with MCVC: Passed HSC with Minimum Competency Vocational Courses (MCVC) recognized by MSBTE/DTE. Minimum 35% aggregate marks.
