Bachelor of Ayurveda, Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) graduate degree awarded after the study of five and a half years duration, including 1-year internship, the course offered by Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore and approved by Central Council of Indian Medicine (CCIM).
Admission Process
Admission will be started as per the schedule specified by R.G.U.H.S Bangalore.
Eligibility Criteria
A. Students seeking admission to the first professional BAMS course must have passed the two year P.U.C. examination of the P.U.C. Board of Karnataka or any other examination considered equivalent thereto by Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore, with English as one of the optional subjects with a minimum of 50% marks in these subjects. Preference will be given to Candidates knowing Sanskrit.
B. Candidates who have passed B.Sc. The first-degree Examination of the any University of Karnataka State or any other equivalent exam conducted by statutory Universities or Boards with Science subjects namely Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Botany, and Zoology and have secured at least 50% of the aggregate are eligible for admission to first professional BAMS provided the candidate has passed the PUC/HSC examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.
C. However in the case of students belonging to SC/ST category, first the minimum requirement in the percentage of marks for admission to the first BAMS course is relaxed by 10% of Marks (applicable only to the Karnataka state students)
D. No candidates shall be admitted unless he/she has completed 17 years of age as on 31st December of the year of admission.
