Silapathar Science College, Dhemaji Facilities Details: Hostel, Campus, Infrastructure, Library, Canteen

The College has a hostel for girls, Ground Floor constructed with the grant received under UGC- XI Plan and the First Floor constructed from College Fund, named Rukmini Girls' Hostel with a capacity of 56 nos of Girls student. It is under the management of the College. The Superintendent is directly responsible to the Principal of the College and acts in a parental capacity to all the boarders. The rooms in the Hostel are three-seaters (three students in a room) and two-seaters (two students in a room) only.

The College has a Gym facility for the students.

The college has a well-stocked library with a good variety and range of collections, which can be accessed by the students. The Library has national journals and periodicals in the English language and subscribes 6 national and local vernacular dailies. In addition, it has a good collection of Encyclopaedias relating to different subjects. The library has a corner namely S.K.Borthakur  Study Circle” in honour of Sri Dr. S. K. Borthakur, Retd. Professor, Department of Botany, Gauhati University, who donated 151 Thesies, 500 Books, 20 Dictionaries and Year Book and 40 seminar Papers to Silapathar Science College a retired teacher and renowned social worker of the area. For the benefit of the students, the college also houses a Xerox machine, which the services of which students can avail, of course at a minimum cost. The Library has a Book Scanner for Digitizing Books and Thesis to provide each and every book in their Mobile for easy access.

The College has sports facilities for all students.

The College has an excellent IT Infrastructure facility for the students.

The College has a college canteen which serves light refreshments and lunch for students and staff. During special occasions, the canteen will arrange a special menu as per request. The guests coming to the college are treated to special food prepared at our canteen.

The College has an auditorium facility for events and seminars.

The College has a departmental-based laboratory facility for the students.

The college operates a number of buses to provide Pickup and drop-off services to and from the surrounding areas, viz. Likabali, MES, Maduripathar, Akajan, Kulajan, Piyang, Tongani, Silasuti, Silli, and Dimow. Contact our Student Services Team or the Office regarding service.

1. Bus Services are available only at the particular ‘Points’ in different directions on all working days of the college.

2. Students willing to use the bus facility are directed to apply for the same in advance.

3. Students have to collect a ‘BUS PASS ‘from the college office. They are also directed to produce the Bus Pass for verification when demanded by the authorized person.

4. If a student wants to discontinue the bus facility, he/ she must apply for the same in advance, before starting the particular semester. Discontinuance is not allowed after starting the current semester. The student will have to pay the FULL BUS FEE of the semester if the application for discontinuance is submitted after starting the semester.

5. Students must behave with dignity and courtesy in the bus and may face consequences if they are found guilty of violating the internal arrangements of the bus.

The College has also provided workshop facilities for all the students.

The College has also encouraged students to participate in extracurricular activities.

The Motive of the placement cell is to act as a facilitator to arrange campus visits and coordinate the recruitment process of the prospective employers of graduating students of the college.

The College has provided good classroom facilities and ICT-Enabled features for all the students.

 The college has a parking space facility for its faculty, staff, and students.
