The infrastructure of the college is well developed and plays an important role in creating a positive learning environment for students. The campus is spacious, clean, and well maintained, with green surroundings that provide a pleasant atmosphere for study and relaxation. Classrooms are well ventilated and equipped with modern teaching aids such as projectors and audio systems, which make learning more interactive and effective. The college library is one of its major strengths, offering a wide collection of textbooks, reference books, journals, and digital resources. It provides a quiet and comfortable space for students to study and research. Laboratories are fully equipped with updated instruments and safety measures, allowing students to gain practical knowledge and hands-on experience.
S.M.J.N. (P.G.) College in Haridwar is an established institution known for providing solid academic grounding in arts, commerce, and science programs within a structured collegiate environment. Founded in 1960 and affiliated with Shri Dev Suman Uttarakhand State University, the college follows a curriculum that balances theoretical knowledge with practical insights, helping students build a strong conceptual foundation in their chosen subjects. smjn.org Academics at SMJN focus on regular classroom teaching supported by experienced faculty who aim to clarify concepts, guide learning, and encourage academic discipline. Many current and past students note that the quality of education and the commitment of teachers to clarify doubts contribute positively to student performance
Placement opportunities at SMJN PG College, Haridwar are generally limited and mixed in student feedback. Many current and former students report that the college does not have a strong placement record, with few or no formal campus recruitment drives and very limited support in finding jobs or internships—meaning many students must seek employment on their own after graduation. According to student reviews, most programmes, especially in arts and commerce, rarely see companies visiting for campus placements, and internships are not regularly provided. A significant number of graduates have shared that they didn’t receive placement opportunities through the college and had to rely on personal efforts to secure jobs.
SMJN PG College is generally considered good value for money, especially for students from middle-class backgrounds or those seeking an affordable higher education option. Many reviewers note that the fee structure is very low and pocket-friendly, making it accessible to a wide range of students without putting a significant financial burden on families. Scholarships and merit-based fee reductions further enhance its affordability for many learners. Because it is a government-affiliated institution with nominal tuition fees, students feel they get the basic benefits of a degree without high costs, which many see as worthwhile given the overall investment. However, some students feel that while the fees are low, the facilities and services are limited compared with pricier colleges — for example limited modern infrastructure, placements, or extra support — so the value depends heavily on what you expect beyond just earning a degree.
Campus life at SMJN PG College has mixed reviews from students. Some students feel that social activities, events, and clubs exist — including freshers’ parties, annual functions, sports days, and NSS activities — which help make the college experience enjoyable and give students chances to interact and participate in extracurriculars. However, others describe campus life as average or limited. Many students mention that while events are organized occasionally, there aren’t strong student-run clubs or consistent activities to keep life lively throughout the year, and facilities for extracurricular involvement are not very well supported due to funding or infrastructure issues.
Poor infrastructure as there were only spider webs in class and old furniture, don’t have a well maintained library or any sports facilities. There is no vehicle parking , you have to park on roadside. There is no food, etc facilities inside college.
Classes seem to go on whether students are able to understand the content of lectures or not. No case or real life based classes where we can learn about implementation of what we are learning theoretically.
There are no placements at all , you have to find it yourself, the students before me(seniors) ,my batch or my juniors , no one got placed through this college, there wasn’t even a single opportunity there.
It’s cheap and you get a degree after completion, that’s all.
Overall college infrastructure is not good and there is no Wi-Fi connection and hostel facilities as well. There is a library but stock of books are old. Canteen is not hygienic and I personally never used to go there.
I was pursued my graduation in B.com which was completed in 2021. The quality of education was very well at the time when I was studying there. No facility to buy stationery within the college. Timings are for very less hours.
I didn't get any placement from there as I have done my graduation in b.com. Many of the college faculty are the old students of that college. I never appeared in the process of placement. Now the procedure of the placement might be changed.
Course cost per year is very low as the facilities are not that much good.
Infrastructure of college was very old bcz it is govt college. They need some new interior and exterior in their college for looking good an need to update some technology for their classes for looking lessons attractive and study are looking interesting
Academics aree very good and teachers also very good . Academics is high because it is govt . And everyone want admission their for good academics. And every student want to grt thier name in merit list
Placement are very few in these good companies are not come here from the location because no one company in haridwar for doing job so placement are not good for girls mostly because their are private companies are very few
It's very cheap college because it's us goverment so it is very pocket friendly college for me their is merit list for reducing your fees and their fees are not so high so everyone can afford it . Sone children who are not affording expensive college they are also getting admission here
It' okay not so good because from its bad infrastructure their ni caffteria for enjoying my life with friend .. and their not my so much friends for enjoying their company. I only concentrate to my classes
College was good for studies and it is also a govt college
The infrastructure, facilities and equipments of SMJN (PG) COLLEGE is good and they provide well maintained library, classrooms and lab for the students. But i personally feel they need to be improved.
The faculty is supportive and knowledgeable............ The quality of teaching is good But the education system and syllabus is somehow backward so they need to be improved and developed.............
The quality of placements is good. Students get their placement at reputed company and places. The percentage of students who were placed is approx 60-70%. And about their salary package I'm not sure about it, it's maybe average salary is 3-4 lakhs per year as a freshers
For distant and part-time working student it's worth. They can manage easily.
Campus is beautiful and safe.
I'm a student at SMJN(PG) College, and my experience has been amazing so far. The campus is beautiful, and the faculty is supportive and knowledgeable. I've made some great friends here, and there are always fun activities and events to attend. The college also offers many opportunities for internships and research, which I'm excited to explore. Overall, I'm grateful for my experience at SMJN(PG) College.
Infrastructure for college palys a important role but when i was in college there is not proper banches for students but afte 2 years new buildings was constructed and labs for students ans new class rooms also made.
Studying in our college is good book is available in library for students. teachers is also very supportive in studies and providing notes and helping students in their doubts and also conduct doubts clearing session.
Placement is really play's a vital role for student career being a fresher Student need placement from colleges but in our college this need to be improved for student placements So that they can also get good career.
College fess structure is good enough for every middle class students or for every one they can easily afford fees for theri particular feilds as for commerce department or for arys department fess is suitable for every one.
Staff and teachers is supportive for students.
Overall somewhere college is good somewhere not.
It's pretty much okay according to the fees, nice seating arrangements but no canteen has bren provided to us so there's no food inside the campus also we aren't introduced to smart boards in college yet.
I'm studying Bachelor in Arts (Political Science,Economics and English literature) I'm in 3rd year of my graduation and i think its a great course but need be more linient and updated and quality of teaching is pretty weird.
I've barely heard about placements in that college even if I've heard of it it's used to be for the students of Bachelor in Science and i think there isn't any placement for the students of BA and B.Sc.
As I'm an student of Bachelor of arts i feel yhe fees i paying is fair but still I've seen colleges providing more than this much.
Yes college have all necessary facilities and equipments .... Classrooms chairs need to be changed... It has library no wifi available or any sports centre.. Big play ground well maintained living spaces are clean ..
I am doing bcom as i need a degree quality of teaching is good teachers are good they are helpful and have calm nature all of them..noo curriculum is not updated and not inclue all the recent development in the field
The quality of placement is poor their is no placements of students i dont know the salary package offered to students noo college was not spportive in that nature as there is no placement for students
Average
Poor
Average overall
The college is built upon a plot of 243393sq. feet. Library is well-stocked. Open space for garden and sports. Beautiful and serene atmosphere ideally suited for education of commerce and humanities. The facilities of NSS, medical aid are also provided.
Time table is well structured. Professors are very encouraging and put a lot of effort into teaching their classes. Here multifaceted approach to education is observed. Great amount of resources at commerce and humanities students' disposal and teachers are understanding.
They don't provide much help in placements. To find a job you have to look for it yourselves. Students with relevant expertise and passion to learn by themselves can get placed better.Placements are okay thus, and you have to put your efforts to achieve a good job.
Fee structure is very feasible. Everyone can afford the fee.
Had a good experience at campus. Felt motivated to learn.
Miss my college days and the vibrant atmosphere.
My college is having a basic and average infrastructure. This college is affiliated to Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University. The college provides all basic facilities like canteen, stationary etc. This is a private college. Grounds are large and sport facility is also good. I think the management is a bit poor. The food provided is hygienic.
The quality of teaching is nice and teachers are very experienced and highly qualified. Yes my curriculum is updated and syllabus is including recent development in every field. I'm currently doing B.Sc. from this college, this is regular B.Sc. with Physics, Chemistry And Math as main subjects.
The quality of placements is average and not that much appreciable. There is no specific placement process, some of the companies come for few recruits like teachers, clerks, managers etc. The teachers are very supportive in nature and are friendly and support all are decisions.
My fees is 33,411 Rupees Per Annum and Course is of 3 years. The fees is very low as compared to other private colleges. I feel I'm getting full worth of the money I'm paying for it because of all facilities available at such a minimal cost. the knowledge I'm getting is having incalculable value.
The campus life is good but exposure to outside world is very less which makes it unable for students to interact with outsiders. Both Teaching and the non-teaching staff is very kind-hearted and understanding. The location is in Haridwar andis well connected to a good road network.
Only lack of little bit of sports facility otherwise this is one of the best colleges of Haridwar. If you want to take admissions here then you should not wait anymore. This is the college you need.
