Academics
S.M.J.N. (P.G.) College in Haridwar is an established institution known for providing solid academic grounding in arts, commerce, and science programs within a structured collegiate environment. Founded in 1960 and affiliated with Shri Dev Suman Uttarakhand State University, the college follows a curriculum that balances theoretical knowledge with practical insights, helping students build a strong conceptual foundation in their chosen subjects.
smjn.org
Academics at SMJN focus on regular classroom teaching supported by experienced faculty who aim to clarify concepts, guide learning, and encourage academic discipline. Many current and past students note that the quality of education and the commitment of teachers to clarify doubts contribute positively to student performance
College Infra
The infrastructure of the college is well developed and plays an important role in creating a positive learning environment for students. The campus is spacious, clean, and well maintained, with green surroundings that provide a pleasant atmosphere for study and relaxation. Classrooms are well ventilated and equipped with modern teaching aids such as projectors and audio systems, which make learning more interactive and effective.
The college library is one of its major strengths, offering a wide collection of textbooks, reference books, journals, and digital resources. It provides a quiet and comfortable space for students to study and research. Laboratories are fully equipped with updated instruments and safety measures, allowing students to gain practical knowledge and hands-on experience.
Campus Life
Campus life at SMJN PG College has mixed reviews from students. Some students feel that social activities, events, and clubs exist — including freshers’ parties, annual functions, sports days, and NSS activities — which help make the college experience enjoyable and give students chances to interact and participate in extracurriculars.
However, others describe campus life as average or limited. Many students mention that while events are organized occasionally, there aren’t strong student-run clubs or consistent activities to keep life lively throughout the year, and facilities for extracurricular involvement are not very well supported due to funding or infrastructure issues.
Placements
Placement opportunities at SMJN PG College, Haridwar are generally limited and mixed in student feedback. Many current and former students report that the college does not have a strong placement record, with few or no formal campus recruitment drives and very limited support in finding jobs or internships—meaning many students must seek employment on their own after graduation.
According to student reviews, most programmes, especially in arts and commerce, rarely see companies visiting for campus placements, and internships are not regularly provided. A significant number of graduates have shared that they didn’t receive placement opportunities through the college and had to rely on personal efforts to secure jobs.
Value For Money
SMJN PG College is generally considered good value for money, especially for students from middle-class backgrounds or those seeking an affordable higher education option. Many reviewers note that the fee structure is very low and pocket-friendly, making it accessible to a wide range of students without putting a significant financial burden on families. Scholarships and merit-based fee reductions further enhance its affordability for many learners.
Because it is a government-affiliated institution with nominal tuition fees, students feel they get the basic benefits of a degree without high costs, which many see as worthwhile given the overall investment.
However, some students feel that while the fees are low, the facilities and services are limited compared with pricier colleges — for example limited modern infrastructure, placements, or extra support — so the value depends heavily on what you expect beyond just earning a degree.

B.Com Self Finance - Batch of 2021-01-01
Academics
Classes seem to go on whether students are able to understand the content of lectures or not. No case or real life based classes where we can learn about implementation of what we are learning theoretically.
College Infra
Poor infrastructure as there were only spider webs in class and old furniture, don’t have a well maintained library or any sports facilities. There is no vehicle parking , you have to park on roadside. There is no food, etc facilities inside college.
Placements
There are no placements at all , you have to find it yourself, the students before me(seniors) ,my batch or my juniors , no one got placed through this college, there wasn’t even a single opportunity there.
Value For Money
It’s cheap and you get a degree after completion, that’s all.

Academics
I was pursued my graduation in B.com which was completed in 2021. The quality of education was very well at the time when I was studying there. No facility to buy stationery within the college. Timings are for very less hours.
College Infra
Overall college infrastructure is not good and there is no Wi-Fi connection and hostel facilities as well. There is a library but stock of books are old. Canteen is not hygienic and I personally never used to go there.
Placements
I didn't get any placement from there as I have done my graduation in b.com. Many of the college faculty are the old students of that college. I never appeared in the process of placement. Now the procedure of the placement might be changed.
Value For Money
Course cost per year is very low as the facilities are not that much good.
