You need to go through following procedure for taking admission in the college:

1. Identify your career goal. If you have selected your target college, make a list of  all related colleges too.
2. Now visit all colleges website and see there admission criteria along with minimum eligibility. If you satisfy all, you can proceed further.
3. Now make a list of all entrance exams accepted by the colleges. For the maximum cases, a common entrance test is taken for all colleges of same course. However, in some special cases, college itself takes its own exam.
4. Now start your preparation, as now you know your target course, every entrance test have almost same syllabus for the same course.
5. Once appeared in entrance test, wait for your results. If you qualify with good marks and rank, you can proceed further (if cutoff is clear).
6. Now, from this step, you need to register for your counselling process in the organisation through there website. Once registered, you can start participating in rounds.
7. In each round, you will have chance to select and list all the colleges you desire. I suggest you to put the top colleges at top priority.
8. With good rank, you will get your college allotment letter with the ending of all rounds. Now, you you need to visit your college physically for your documents verification.
9. Once successfully verified, you will be paying the first year college fees and you are now a college student.
