The St Joseph's Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology, Palai has many important facilities to make students' experience better. The college provides excellent training facilities for students studying culinary and food service. These SJIHMCT facilities include well-equipped kitchens, bakeries, and restaurants. There are also special labs for learning housekeeping and front office operations. Students can stay updated with industry trends using the modern computer lab that has internet access. There are separate hostels for boys and girls with Wi-Fi, study halls, gyms, and healthy food. You can find a South Indian Bank branch with an ATM on campus. The eLive software lets students and parents check attendance, grades, and important info online.

The SJIHMCT canteen has a variety of food options and is a social place for students. Students run "Cafe Mocha," which offers affordable snacks and lunch. There are gyms and sports facilities to stay fit. College buses are available for safe transportation, and there is parking for bikes and cars. Boys Hostel
The College has Separate hostel facilities for boys under the guidance of priests and nuns are available adjacent to the Institute. The hostels have Wi-Fi facility. Student activities inside and outside the hostels are closely monitored by competent wardens and counsellors.
Girls Hostel
The College has Separate hostel facilities for Girls under the guidance of priests and nuns are available adjacent to the Institute. The hostels have Wi-Fi facility. Student activities inside and outside the hostels are closely monitored by competent wardens and counselors.
Medical/Hospital
The College has a first aid room is provided in the Institute building. All students undergo a free medical checkup.
Library
The College offers a library with an extensive range of resources and services to support teaching and learning. The fully computerized library is well equipped with modern facilities and resources in the form of books, printed and electronic journals, CD ROMs, online databases, etc. Internet facilities are available to the students and staff. The library offers an Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC), a computerized catalog service. Our library services are with the library software package called Book Magic. The SJIHMCT has a fully automated library facility for students and faculties. A long leap in the horizon of knowledge, the SJIHMCT’s library, the first of its kind among the colleges affiliated to the MG University, is in the process of digitalization of its resources. The digital library facilitates easy access to the electronic books and journals downloaded from the open access archives and other sources made available through the internet.
Sports
The college has the sports facilities for all students.
I.T Infrastructure
The computer lab is well equipped with the latest systems loaded with advanced software. Students can make use of the opportunity to update themselves with the latest trend in the industry. The students are divided into batches and are allotted individual time to work on the computer. Extra time is offered usually at lunch break. Our campus has Wi-Fi enabled. It has 49 Pentium IV computers with a full suite of software, all with internet facilities and access to printers.

The College has a modern canteen and a cafeteria are functioning in the campus where hygienic food is being served at a subsidized price.

The College has a Separate parking facilities Which are provided in the institute campus for two wheelers and four wheelers. Vehicles parked in the morning can be taken only when the classes are over. Use of vehicles during intervals will not be permitted except in the case of exigencies, with the permission of the Principal.
Banks/ATMs
The College as a branch of the South Indian Bank functions near the institute campus (in front of the main gate of the Engineering College) with ATM facility.
Guest Room/Waiting Room
The college has guest house/waiting room facilities for visiting faculty and student family members.
