Admission Process

The candidates are admitted strictly on the basis of merit position in the merit list published by the TBJEE in the respective year of admission.

Eligibility Criteria

An applicant must be a bonafide citizen of India & a permanent resident of Tripura.
An applicant must pass in H.S.(+2 stage) Exam or equivalent with at least four subjects from a recognized board with 45% marks in aggregate of Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics for General candidates. For SC and ST candidates the percentage of marks in aggregate is relaxed to 40%.
An applicant must have been qualified through the Tripura Board of Joint Entrance Examination (TBJEE) for the respective year of admission.
The applicant must be duly nominated by TBJEE / Director of Higher Education, Government of Tripura.

Lateral Entry: (Admission to Second Year of Degree Program)

An applicant must be a bonafide citizen of India & a permanent resident of Tripura.
Candidates must have passed a Diploma in Engineering / Technology from any recognized Board/Council/University with a minimum of 45% marks for Unreserved & 40% marks for reserved categories for admission to 3rd semester B.E. program as the lateral entrant.
An applicant must be qualified through the Lateral Entrance Examination constituted by the Government for the respective year of admission.

B.Tech Mechanical Engineering

Its cheap to study here as it is a govt. College. Only 5k per semester... It is AICTE approved institute... But it should be a person's last resort because 1. faculty ain't good enough. Some teachers are great, while most are not that good. 2. Poor placement! Yes! I mean very poor placement. I think only few students get placement through college campusing. Around 10-15 students every batch maybe... and that too not good salary package. 3. Poor infrastructure- Laboratories/workshops are not that good. Not enough equipments in workshops and the ones that are present in workshops are mostly old and rusty stuffs... Most lab instructors provide only theoretical knowlegde. Class rooms are okay but broken benches, windows and doors are common specially in mechanical branch's classroom. 4. No wifi, canteen not upto mark, no source of entertainment, no place made for hanging out. 5. No extra curricular activities offered by college. There is one small place where u can play volleyball and badminton. 6. libraries don't have enough books. I myself didn't get certain books, but most of the people got, so i had to buy. But still, there are not enough books in library. 7. Friends and the degree certificates are the only good thing about this place. 8. Industrial tour- In this matter, they do take us to certain industries or power plants. As we don't have enough industries in our state, so can't complain! 9. No hostel! They're currently building one... 10. College fest aka Tech fest is somewhat okay. Since the college doesn't encourage much of extra curricular activities, so it reflects on this matter too! Not so fun. Its okay. I have completed diploma in M.E. in this college and currently about to finish B.Tech. I had to stay here only because i couldn't afford enough money to study in better colleges in bigger cities. I have made good friends, met bad peoples, learnt how to deal with govt. Employees. I have developed patience in myself. Choice is yours, but i suggest everyone to consider this as their last resort. Thank you.
