UPID Noida Facilities Details: Hostel, Campus, Infrastructure, Library, Canteen

The institute houses a well-stocked library for all the courses being run. There are over 2000 books (and increasing) in the library that can be either borrowed or referenced. In addition to that various national and international journals/periodicals, interesting and relevant magazines, English and Hindi newspapers are also under subscription. The library is fully digitized and each accessed unit cataloged. The library has both reading and reprographic facilities for the convenience of the students and the researchers alike.

The computer center houses around 100 computers and is available to all the students, teachers and staff in the building. It has a dedicated server that ensures speedy networking and access to the internet. The computers are latest in terms of technology and adequate in terms of hardware and software configuration to take care of any computing power necessitating out of the course curriculum being run at the institute. The computer center also has an attached seminar hall to mini-conferences and lectures for delegates/ students in numbers more than 50.

With a seating area for nearly 100 people, students, teachers, guests, parents, all and sundry have their meals at the cafeteria. The cafeteria also has a micro restaurant where hot tea, coffee, and limited gourmet dishes, are served to people who have missed lunch or breakfast. A place to unwind and take a break.

The workshop is the place where the students materialize their vision and concepts into physical products. This is the place where they hone their hand manipulation of materials and prototyping skills. Apart from manual work the institute also provides access to various metal and woodworking machines to the students. The workshop has lathes, milling and drilling, pipe bending and finishing machines. It also has sheet metal shearer, bender and spot welding machines. For woodworking, the student can use wooden lathes, router cutters, and drilling machines. On the high-tech side, the workshop has a CNC laser cutter and engraver for fast prototyping of project works. Apart from the machines, the workshop has numerous hand-held power tools, precision measuring tools and accessories along with well-trained staff to guide the students and take care of their safety while handling these machines.

Unlike regular classrooms or studios, the study and lecture areas are both classrooms as well as studios-for-non-messy work. All the classrooms (04 B.Des and 02 M.Des) are equipped with teaching aids and equipment that make them "smart". In addition to lecture areas, students can mold, chisel, chip, hand-grid a form out of a wooden, plastic or plaster-of-Paris piece in the free-hand studio. This is where they learn to get their hands dirty and create exciting forms. Furthermore, if a student wants to pursue an additional credit of 20, which is permissible under the institute mandate for an honorary degree, he or she can do so in the MOOCs studio.

The college has sports facilities for all students.
