VIIT Pune: Admission, Courses, Fees, Placements

Vishwakarma Institute of Information Technology (VIIT), Pune was established in the year 2002 by Bansilal Ramnath Agarwal Charitable Trust (BRACT). VIIT Pune is a self-financed autonomous institute affiliated to the Savitribai Phule Pune University. The institute is approved by AICTE. With a CGPA of 3.14, VIIT Pune has been accredited by NAAC with an ‘A’ grade. A total of 17 courses are offered by the institute and admission to these courses is done on the basis of different national level examinations. The institute also has provision for scholarships and provides a long list of facilities to its students as well.

VIIT Pune offers 8 undergraduate, 5 postgraduate and 4 doctoral courses. The VIIT Pune course list includes B.Tech, M.Tech and Ph.D courses in multiple specialisations. The duration of VIIT Pune B.Tech course is 4 years, M.Tech course is 2 years and Ph.D course is 6 years. All these courses are offered in full-time mode only. Candidates seeking admission in any of these courses must meet the eligibility criteria for the same.

VIIT Pune Admissions

Candidates seeking admission in any of the courses offered by VIIT Pune must apply  by filling the online application form from the official website of the institute.  For VIIT Pune admission to undergraduate courses, candidates need to appear for MHT CET or JEE Main. A candidate must have a valid score in the GATE to take admission in the M.Tech programme. VIIT Pune admission to PhD courses is offered on the basis of marks obtained by candidates in PET and candidates' performance in the personal interview.

VIIT Pune Scholarships

The institute offers only a single scholarship to its students. The only scholarship offered by VIIT Pune is the Keep Moving Scholarship. In order to avail VIIT Pune scholarship students must meet the eligibility criteria set by the college. Vishwakarma Institute of Information Technology scholarship policy is governed by the alumni association. Furthermore, tuition fee waiver is provided to students based on financial need and also to the childrens of the college employees. GATE qualified students are also entitled to stipend offered by the college. 

Vishwakarma Institute of Information Technology Cut off

VIIT Pune cut off is the closing ranks of entrance exams undertaken by candidates. To take admission in the desired course candidates need to meet the Vishwakarma Institute of Information Technology cutoff. JEE Main/MHA CET cut-off is released for B.Tech admission and GATE cut-off is released for M,Tech admissions, The institute cutoff is released by the Maharashtra Common Entrance Test Cell, Government of Maharashtra. VIIT Pune cutoff is released in multiple rounds in online mode.

VIIT Pune Placements

The college has a dedicated placement department for conducting placements. The VIIT Pune placement department is called the training and placement (T&P) cell. Training and placement cell manages contact with the corporates and every year sends invitations to them for the Vishwakarma Institute of Technology placements. The placement department also supports students by conducting placement related workshops and seminars. VIIT Pune placement department also remains in touch with the alumni as they also help in finding the best jobs for the students.

VIIT Pune Facilities

Vishwakarma Institute of Information Technology facilities offer a comfortable environment to the students. The college has a well-stocked central library, canteen which offers hygienic food at reasonable prices, wifi and auditorium where numerous academic and cultural events are held. VIIT Pune also has provision for the accommodation of outstation boys and girls students. Each department of the college has a lab. The institute has a bank and ATM inside the campus only. Convenient stores such as a stationery shop, photocopy shop and others. are also at the college premises. There are sports facilities with a playground that is used for various sports like cricket, football, athletics.

Vishwakarma Institute of Information Technology (VIIT) is located at Survey No. 2/3/4, VIM Private Road, Kapil Nagar, Kondhwa, Pune in Maharashtra. The nearest railway station is Pune Railway Station situated 10 km from the campus. Pune International Airport with a distance of 18 km from the campus is the nearest airport to the college. The nearest bus depot is Upper Bus Depot. It is just 2 km away from the institute.
