VIIT Pune Course Admission 2024 - Fees, Date, Cutoff & Eligibility

VIIT Pune offers admission to undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral level courses. Vishwakarma Institute of Information Technology admission to undergraduate courses is based on the marks obtained by candidates in the MHT-CET/JEE Main. However, preference is given to JEE Main candidates. For VIIT Pune PG admissions, candidates' score in GATE  is taken into consideration. For Ph.D course candidates need to appear for the entrance exam conducted by the Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU), Pune. As per the VIIT Pune admission procedure, it is mandatory for students to register for the Centralised Admission Process conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE).

VIIT Pune Application Process

• Candidates must visit the official website of VIIT Pune.

• Candidates have to register themselves on the official admissions portal.

• Candidates will use the registered ID and password to login into their portal.

• After logging in, they will have to fill the online application form by filling in all the correct details.

• Candidates will have to upload the scanned copies of all the required documents.

• Before submitting, candidates pay the VIIT Pune application fees.

• Submit the form. 

VIIT Pune UG Admissions

Only 1 UG course is offered at the institute i.e B.Tech, and it is offered across a total of 8 specialisations. The duration of all the undergraduate programmes is four years.

• Candidates seeking admission must first meet the eligibility criteria.

• Eligible candidates must apply for admission by filling the online application form.

• Applicants need to appear for the MHT-CET/JEE Main.

• Maharashtra candidates need to appear for MHT-CET and all India candidates are required to sit for the JEE Main.

• Next Merit list for JEE Main and MHT CET is released. 

• Candidates then need to register and participate in CAP conducted by the State Common Entrance Test Cell, Maharashtra.

• Next, candidates are required to fill the college and course choice in order of their preference.  

• Seats are allotted to candidates on the basis of their entrance exam score and choices filled by them. 

• Next, they need to visit the institute and complete the VIIT Pune admission process by submitting the documents and paying the course fee. 

VIIT Pune PG Admissions

At the PG level, the institute offers M.Tech course, which are offered across 5 specialisations. The course is offered for a duration of 2 years.

VIIT Pune PG Admission Process

• Candidates seeking admission must meet the VIIT Pune eligibility criteria and apply for admission by filling the online application form.

• The eligible candidates need to appear for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) entrance exam.

• Next, the GATE cutoff is released.

• Candidates who clear the cut-off need to register for the Centralised Admission Process (CAP) conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Maharashtra.

• Candidates need to fill the college and course of their choice in preference order.

• Based on choice filled and the marks of students in GATE exam, merit list is released. 

• The merit list contains students' scores, courses and college allotted to them.

• Candidates who are allotted VIIT Pune need to visit the campus.

• The last step in the VIIT Pune admission process is submission of documents and payment of course fee. 

VIIT Pune Doctoral Admissions

Doctoral courses at VIIT Pune are offered across 4 specialisations. These courses are offered for a duration of 6 years. 

VIIT Ph.D Courses and Eligibility Criteria

• First candidates need to meet the eligibility criteria for VIIT Pune Ph.D admissions.

• Candidates meeting the eligibility criteria need to sit for the Ph.D entrance test (PET) conducted by the Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU), Pune.

• Based on the entrance exam score, aspirants are shortlisted for a personal interview. 

• Then the final list is prepared of the selected students on the basis of performance in the entrance test and interview,

• The final step in the Vishwakarma Institute of Information Technology admission procedure for Ph.D courses is the submission of documents and payment of VIIT Pune fees.

Note: Students who have cleared GATE/GPAT/SET/NET/JRF/SRF are exempted from the entrance test.
