Vivekananda College of Pharmacy, Bangalore Admission Process

Vivekananda College of Pharmacy (VCP) in Bangalore is a prestigious institution known for its various pharmacy courses. This college, affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences and recognized by the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), has specified an admission procedure for its diploma, undergraduate, and postgraduate pharmacy programs.

Usually, the admission cycle at VCP runs parallel to the academic year which starts in August-September. Although the specific dates haven't been given, it is advisable for all the prospective students to gear themselves up for applications as early as possible, probably a few months before they anticipate the academic year to start up. The university takes in its total allowance of students as 337 for different courses, making competition tough yet open for every aspiring student.

Basic eligibility criteria would include passing the 10+2 exam with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, or Mathematics for undergraduate courses such as B.Pharma. Likewise, the same requirements would apply to the D.Pharma program. A proper B.Pharm degree from a recognized university is a general requirement for a postgraduate applicant (M.Pharm). Degree-wise Admission Process

B.Pharma: VCP offers a 4 year Bachelor of Pharmacy course with sanctioned intake of 60 seats. Admission is decided based on 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Mathematics combined with scores in possible entrance examination relevant to the course. This course gives an exhaustive education in drug development.

B.Pharma Lateral Entry: This program allows a diploma holder to enter directly into the second year of the B. Pharma course. Approved intake of this Program is 60, with a lateral entry scheme for D. Pharma graduates to upgrade their qualifications.

M.Pharm: VCP has two specializations offered in M.Pharm:

      1. Pharmaceutics

      2. Pharmaceutical Chemistry
Both specializations have an approved intake level of 15 seats. Admission will usually be based on the B.Pharm of the candidate and might in addition consider GPAT and other similar national-level entrance exam scores.
