WHAT IS GENERAL MEDICINE AND SURGERY ?
Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) is one of the most sought after professional degrees in India. It is a four-and- a-half- year program followed by a mandatory rotational residential internship of six months to one year. Candidates pursuing MBBS will learn basic science, pre-clinical, clinical and para-clinical subjects. During the internship, candidates will be exposed to various aspects of primary, secondary and tertiary healthcare. Medical institutions across India offer this course. - For UG: Candidates must fulfill criteria like academic qualification, age limit, domicile requirement etc. to apply for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG) that will facilitate admission to MBBS program across all government and private medical institutions. In general, aspirants must have passed class 12 with Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Biotechnology as compulsory subjects to apply for NEET. They must also have 50 percent marks in the core subjects.
- For PG: Candidate should possess MBBS degree from a University recognized by the Medical Council of India and must have completed the required 12-month compulsory rotating Internship/Practical training to apply for PG level entrance exams.
