NEET is the entrance exam for admission to MBBS across India including medical colleges in Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh. Jammu and Kashmir as an United State didn't contribute 15% of its MBBS seats to the central pool for All India Counselling. All the seats were filled up through State Counselling and so neither Jammu and Kashmir students could participate in All India Counselling and nor could Other State Candidates study in Jammu and Kashmir. Now that Jammu and Kashmir has been divided into Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh, even Ladakh doesn't contribute its seats to the central pool. So if any candidate belonging to either Jammu and Kashmir or Ladakh want to participate in All India Counselling, they have to give a self declaration form. The proforma of self declaration form is available in page no# 61 of https://ntaneet.nic.in/ntaneet/ShowPdf.aspx?Type=50C9E8D5FC98727B4BBC93CF5D64A68DB647F04F&ID=AC3478D69A3C81FA62E60F5C3696165A4E5E6AC4
Hi Aspirant,
As AIIMS and JIPMER have both decided to stop their entrance exams for UG this year and take admissions on the basis of NEET UG 2020 scores, the competition is expected to increase and as the percentile system is based on relative performance, so is the difficulty.
NCERT does not come close to the level of questions asked in NEET. However, you need to be well-versed with the basics which are covered in NCERT. As Biology constitutes for half the marks, it is advisable to refer NEET preparation textbooks like Truman Elementary and Objective.
Sreeja ;
For now all we know is that candidates are going to be selected for AIIMS colleges through NEET exam starting from this year. So, you must secure a better rank in NEET to stand a chance of getting into AIIMS.
As for the counseling process, AIIMS hasn't launched their bulletin yet. So, no one can say particularly how the admission process will be done. But sooner or later they'll launch their bulletin with the procedure to apply for AIIMS.
So, stay tuned and wait for them to launch the bulletin.
And best of luck for your exam!
Dear Sakshi, yes it's true that admission in all the AIIMS colleges will be through NEET score.
From this year only AIIMS and JIPMER has been scrapped off. So, there will be no individual exams for them. There will be only single exam for admission in medical colleges i.e. NEET.
All the best
Hope this helps
