Hi Priya,

You are correct in stating that the AIIMS and JIPMER entrance examination have been cancelled for this year and NEET scores will be considered for admissions to these colleges. Due to this, the competition level will definitely be higher than usual. Due to the fact that NEET scores are calculated in percentile, it is all about relative performance. The difficulty level will depend upon your preparation level and nothing else.

Now from 2020, there is no AIIMS MBBS entrance examination. So Candidates who want to study in AIIMS New Delhi and the rest of its branches have to appear for NEET alone. If you are planning on appearing for NEET, this might help you:

ELIGIBILITY:

  • Indian Nationals, NRIs, PIOs, OCIs, and Foreign Nationals
  • No upper age limit as of now. The Candidate should be at least 17 years by December 31st of 2020
  • You should have completed your 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as your Core Subjects.
  • 50% Aggregate in Physics, Chemistry and Biology for General Category, 45% for PWD and 40% for OBC,SC,ST Candidates.
  • NIOS and Private Candidates are also eligible

IMPORTANT DATES:

Registration Dates: 2nd to 31st December, 2019
Downloading of Admit Cards: 27th March, 2020
Date of Examination: 3rd May, 2020
Date of Announcing Result: 4th June, 2020

Hi Prabha,

Yes. According to the new criteria all students who want to appear for MBBS have to appear for NEET and there will be no separate tests for AIIMS and JIPMER. Admission in both the Institutions will be on the baiss of NEET score only. So the news you have heard is absolutely true.

hey,

according to latest notifications, admission to MBBS courses and other health science related courses like bams, bhms, bvsc etc  in medical colleges across the india  including JIPMER and all the AIIMS will be through the common national entrance test NEET from 2020.

so neet is the only gate way to admission in medical colleges for health science related courses.

Dear candidate here's the procedure for AIIMS MBBS counselling -

  • Step 2: Exercising Choice Preferences. ...
  • Step 3: Mock Allotment Results. ...
  • Step 4: Editing and Final Submission of Choices. ...
  • Step 5: Seat Allotment Result. ...
  • Step 6: Acceptance or Rejection of Allotted seat.

You can check this link for detailed procedure and seat matrix

All the best

Hope this helps

Hello there!

Greetings!

Yes it's absolutely true , both aiims and Jipmer have been scrapped off and now included in neet as announced by Dr. Harsh Vardhan, Ministry of Health and Welfare and now admissions to both aiims and jipmer will be conducted through your performance in neet and thus now neet is the single entrance exam i.e.only gateway to get into medical colleges for admission to MBBS , BDS and Ayush courses i.e. BHMS, BAMS , B.V.Sc & AH etc. So , you need to prepare well for neet. To get more information about neet examination go through our page for which link is provided below :-

Thankyou

Shivani, now AIIMS will not conduct its entrance exam. It will consider NEET score. You need to be 17 years by December 31st of the year of admission for AIIMS. So if you are born on 3rd November 2003, you will turn 17 years by November and so you are eligible for AIIMS admissions as well.

NEET 2020 ELIGIBILITY:

Hello there!

Greetings!

First of all Aiims mbbs entrance exam has been scrapped off and now admission to all the medical colleges of India including all the aiims and even jipmer will be based on your performance in neet as jipmer has been scrapped off as well. Now ; since your admission will be based on neet performance, your class 12th marks are not considered to decide your rank , you just need to be eligible for Neet with your class 12 marks, to be eligible for Neet you need to get at least 50% aggregate your class 12th in pcb subjects, ( 40 % aggregate in pcb for obc, sc and st categories ). Also you need to be at least 17 years old by December 31; 2020 to be eligible for Neet 2020.
For detailed information go through :- https://medicine.careers360.com/articles/neet-eligibility-criteria/amp
Now , since you want to get into aiims I would suggest you to aim for at least 650 + marks as getting into aiims will be first priority for students and thus cut off for aiims will be high . So prepare well. Good luck dear.

Thankyou
