Yes there is sectional cutoff. For general category, cutoff is  50% of total marks where as for reservation category:- 45% of total marks.

previous year cutoff for different category is:-

1. General: - 78-61
2. SC:- 60-54
3. ST:-53-52
4. OBC:- 60-57
5. PH:- 75-50

In the department of Visual Arts, HPU(Shimla) offers MA Painting for which eligibility is that candidate having 50% marks in aggregate or 45% marks (in case of SC/ST it's 45% or 40% marks) in the subject concerned (any stream of Visual Arts/Fine Arts) in B.A./B.F.A. shall be eligible for admission to M.A. Course in Visual Arts (Specialization in Painting).10% weightage is strongly  given to those who are having painting as subject/specialization in B.A./B.F.A. Admission is done via entrance test conducted by the university.And,there's M.A. Performing Arts (Music) for which eligibility is candidate having 50% marks in aggregate or 45% marks in the subject concerned in B.A.


The application forms for admission in HPU shall commence from April and exams will be conducted in May. Although no exact dates are confirmed, things may change considering the outbreak of the pandemic, but eventually you'll need to show your original documents at the time of admission, else even you qualify entrance,your admission may not take place.

It's very simple,admission link will be activated at official website of IGNOU at ignou.ac.in, you have to create user ID and password for logging in the system, upload the required documents, pay the programme fee which be done in  online mode via net banking, debit/credit card. Once your admission gets confirmed, the same will be forwarded to you through the registered email I'd and via SMS on registered mobile number. You can also check by logging in at official website of IGNOU regarding registration/admission details.

Application forms for Undegraduate program will be available in the month of May onwards at official  website of  IGNOU at  ignou.ac.in. There's no entrance test conducted for admission to BA program. Entrance tests are conducted for selective courses such as BSc Nursing,MBA,BEd etc.
